The Boston Bruins acquired winger Daniel Paille from the Buffalo Sabres for a third-round draft pick in 2010 and conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2010.
What does it give the Boston Bruins? The Bruins recently dealt Chuck Kobasew to Minnesota and lost power forward Milan Lucic for a few weeks because of a broken finger, so the club needed a little short-term roster boost. Enter Paille, who will probably play no higher than Boston's third line.
What does it give the Buffalo Sabres? The Sabres had been waiting for a while for Paille to develop into a consistent bottom-six forward, but decided to wait no longer. Paille was surpassed by Clarke MacArthur on the depth chart last year, and by journeyman Matt Ellis this season. So, they received a nice return instead.
