JOHNSON FOR GREENTREE
Aaron Johnson
The Calgary Flames acquired defenseman Aaron Johnson from the Chicago Blackhawks for winger Kyle Greentree.

What does it give the Calgary Flames?
The Flames add more blue-line depth, essentially replacing what was lost when the club dealt Anton Stralman to Columbus before the start of the regular season. Look for Johnson to assume the role of No. 7 or 8 defenseman in Calgary.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks?
The Blackhawks felt they could part with Johnson at this time, since the club currenlty boasts seven other healthy NHL rearguards. Greentree has been a good producer at the AHL level, so he may get a shot with Chicago at some point during 2009-10.
