In the 23-year-old Stralman, the Blue Jackets have added an offensive defenseman--something the organization badly needed. He should get an opportunity to supplant Kris Russell as the team's power-play specialist at some point in 2009-10.
What does it give the Calgary Flames?
The Flames acquired Stralman in the off-season from Toronto, but there was simply no room at the inn for the talented Swede. Therefore, the Flames moved him to a team that needs him far more--and added a third-round pick in the process.
