HUGHES FOR HENNIGAR
Bobby Hughes
The New York Islanders acquired center Bobby Hughes from the Carolina Hurricanes for center Rob Hennigar.

What does it give the New York Islanders?
Hughes is a little younger, so he offers up slightly more upside. However, he faces an uphill climb to land a roster spot due of the Isles' center depth.

What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes?
Hennigar will probably be a key performer in the AHL this season, and perhaps be an injury replacement with Carolina in 2009-10. He essentially replaces the departed Dwight Helminen.
