BOLTS LAND TOUGH GUY JACQUES - Monday, January 21, 2013
The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired winger Jean-Francois Jacques from the Florida Panthers for future considerations.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning?
Jacques adds more physicality to the Lightning organization, though probably at the AHL level for the most part. With fellow tough guy Labrie graduated to the big club, Jacques will likely take over enforcer duties with the Syracuse Crunch.
What does it give the Florida Panthers?
The Panthers and Lightning rarely make deals with each other, but Florida did Jacques a favor by sending him to Tampa Bay's organization. The Panthers are set with veteran enforcer Parros for a while, so Jacques wasn't needed in South Florida.
Fantasy Impact
Don't look for a lot of fantasy value here. When Jacques is in the NHL, he produces good penalty-minute totals. However, it's not enough to be on anyone's fantasy radar.
