2009/11/20: Matt Pettinger has been placed on waivers. Oddly enough, he will play for Vancouver on Friday night against the Avalanche. The move was made to make room for the pending return of Daniel Sedin to the Canucks' lineup. "I kind of knew what the understanding was," Pettinger said. "Obviously they had a lot of injuries and a lot of them are healthy now. I thought I did a fairly good job and, with the converstions I had with them, they were happy, too. Pavol Demitra, LW/RW
2009/11/20: Pavol Demitra (shoulder) will begin skating again on Friday. Demitra has been out the entire season thus far as he needed surgery to fix his ailing shoulder a month ago. He had hoped to avoid the arthroscopic surgery and was rehabbing it during training camp and the start of the season but the shoulder stopped responding and surgery was required. There is no timetable for his return but it is a good start that he is about to start skating. (Source: Vancouver Province) |

2009/11/20: Roberto Luongo will face the Colorado Avalanche for the second time in six days on Friday. Luongo's Canucks defeated the Avs 8-2 on Saturday so Colorado will be looking for some revenge. Luongo has played well his last two starts and is rounding back into form after missing a couple of weeks earlier in the season with a rib injury. He is 7-7 with a 2.69 GAA and a .906 save percentage. (Source: Vancouver Province) |

Ryan Kesler, C/RW
2009/11/20: Ryan Kesler will likely drop to the second line when Daniel Sedin returns on Sunday. Sedin has been out since early October with a broken foot and Kesler has teamed up with Henrik Sedin and Mason Raymond in the last three games to form a dynamite top line. But while they will play together on Friday, it will end there. Kesler has three assists in his last three games and has 19 points in 21 games this season. Keep him in your lineup.
