2009/11/20: Tom Gilbert was benched for most of the final two periods during Wednesday's game. Gilbert has had 33 and 45 points in his last two NHL seasons and was a fairly high pick in pools that use defensemen but has only a goal and six points thus far. But that is not why he saw the bench on Wednesday. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out he missed a couple of plays there," said coach Pat Quinn. "They were two goals, bang, bang, that were directly related to turnovers and bad positioning." Milan Hejduk scored both, making Gilbert look bad and having him spend most of the game glued to the bench. We shall see if Gilbert can rebound from this incident and become fantasy-worthy once again. (Source: Edmonton Sun) |

2009/11/20: Ethan Moreau (head) missed practice on Thursday. Moreau was hit in the head by the Avalanche's Ryan Wilson on Wednesday and Wilson may be suspended for the hit. The Oilers are not sure whether Moreau suffered a concussion. "He took a bad enough whack that he had blurred vision and headaches but they don't believe there was a concussion," coach Pat Quinn said. Stay tuned as Moreau is a good source of penalty minutes and can chip in with 25-30 points in a healthy season. (Source: Edmonton Sun) |

2009/11/20: Jean-Francois Jacques (back) was at practice on Thursday. It was supposed to be a full practice but the Oilers are hurting badly at this time and there were only 13 healthy skaters including only eight forwards.
