Mark Scheifele sustained "a slight concussion" in the OHL championship series against London, but Barrie coach Dale Hawerchuk expects him to be all right for the fall.
He missed Monday's Game 7 due to the injury after he was hit in Game 6. Barrie ended up losing to London when the Knights with less than one second remaining in regulation. Hawerchuk believes that Scheifele is ready to become a professional player next season. "But he's definitely ready, ready to go to the next level," he said. "I'll be surprised if he's not there ... I expect him to have a great camp and be ready."

The Winnipeg Jets have mutually ended their ECHL affiliation with the Colorado Eagles.
Colorado had been a minor-league affiliate since the Jets relocated from Atlanta for the 2011-12 season. Winnipeg will have a new ECHL affiliate for next season.

Andrew Ladd has been one of Canada's better players at the IIHF World Championships.
Ladd had a terrific season with the Jets with 46 points in 48 games and he has continued to hold a hot stick at the World Championships with three goals and four points in five games. There are many who regard Ladd's accomplishments as a bit flukey. Don't count us amongst them.

Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press writes that he wouldn't be surprised if GM Kevin Cheveldayoff took a look at adding current Vancouver coach Alain Vigneault if he becomes available.
Cheveldayoff was asked if coach Claude Noel would be back next year and he left the door open a bit. "The answer is, that everybody that is under contract is under contract. It's one of those things when you talk about a coach at this point in time, if I say something one way or say something the other way, it's always misconstrued," said Cheveldayoff. "There should be no interjection or expectation that Claude Noel is not the coach. The question then leads to, 'Well, then you must be signing him to an extension.' There's a process in place to deal with these things. It's a question that has to be asked. Claude Noel is the coach of the Winnipeg Jets. He is under contract and as we move forward the processes will unfold."

Mark Scheifele had two goals and three assists in Barrie's 6-3 win over London in Game 3 of their OHL final.
Scheifele has been a major force in the playoffs, with 11 goals and 23 assists in 18 games. The Jets have very high hopes for their prospect forward.

Arturs Kulda scored Latvia's only goal in a 4-1 loss to the United States in world championship action Sunday.
Another future hopeful for Winnipeg's blueline, Jacob Trouba, collected an assist on a power-play goal by David Moss for the Americans in the match. Bobby Butler generated a goal and assist in the win, while Paul Stastny had two helpers.

Andrew Ladd scored in Canada's 3-2 shootout loss to Switzerland on Sunday.
The Swiss also defeated Sweden to open the tournament. Philadelphia's Matt Read also scored for the Canadian squad in the contest.

Winnipeg GM Kevin Cheveldayoff revealed Wednesday that Mark Stuart will be evaluated for an abdominal injury.
The Jets defenseman played most of the year with the ailment. Stuart skated in 42 games this past season, while collecting 111 hits, 81 blocks and four points.

Evander Kane concluded the 2013 campaign with injuries to his wrist and foot, according to GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.
He will visit with a specialist regarding his wrist before determining whether or not he needs surgery. Kane was playing hurt down the stretch, but he remained in the Jets' lineup. Stay tuned.

Winnipeg GM Kevin Cheveldayoff stated Wednesday that the clubs' prospects will get every opportunity to remain at the NHL level at training camp next fall.
Mark Scheifele and Jacob Trouba are obviously at the top of the list and they could be NHLers as early as next year. "As an organization, I want every player to have the opportunity and feel that they have the opportunity to play at the level that they deserve to play," said Cheveldayoff. "With respect to those two individuals (Scheifele and Trouba) the opportunity is there in front of them." He will get a good look at Trouba during the world championship when Winnipeg's first-round pick in the 2012 draft plays for Team USA.

Mark Scheifele's Barrie Colts will begin the OHL championship series on Friday against the London Knights.
The winner of the series will represent the league in the Memorial Cup. Scheifele leads all skaters in scoring with 27 points (eight goals, 19 assists) in 15 playoff games. Scheifele has skated in 11 games with Winnipeg over the past two seasons and he's accounted for one goal, but he still has plenty of promise as a prospect.

Winnipeg retained the 13th overall pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft after Monday night's lottery selection.
The Colorado Avalanche had the second-best odds of winning at 18.8 and they ended up getting the top pick over the last-placed Florida Panthers who will pick second overall. The Winnipeg Jets own their own first, three seconds and two thirds in this draft. The team has 10 selections in all.

Al Montoya is eligible for unrestricted free agency unless the Winnipeg Jets choose to bring him back.
He played with the team on a one-year deal this past campaign and dealt with a pair of groin injuries. In seven appearances, he posted a 3-1-0 record with an .899 save percentage, a 2.91 goals-against average and one shutout. If the Jets don't re-sign him then they will have to find another backup goalie for Ondrej Pavelec.

The Jets finished ninth in the East and they have the second-lowest odds of all the non-playoff teams. The Columbus Blue Jackets were the ninth-placed team in the West and they have slightly worse odds at 0.5 percent.

A Winnipeg columnist argued that the Jets need to trade Dustin Byfuglien.
Byfuglien's defensive struggles, fitness, and consistency issues were cited as reasons to deal him. Who knows if a trade will ever materialize, but he's a remain a great offensive defenseman from a fantasy perspective.

Even though the Jets won't be in the playoffs, Evander Kane is very happy with his progress this season.
The 21-year-old had 17 goals and 33 points this year, but it's not the score sheet production he's only proud of. "I think I've become more a leader in the room and on the ice each year I've been here," said Kane. "Next season is my fifth season. I'm still a young guy but not the typical young guy anymore. I've been around and I'm comfortable with the league now and I feel comfortable with the guys in here and that's definitely something I want to become, more of a leader on this team and get this team into the playoffs a lot sooner than later."

The Jets were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Thursday night.
They improved from 11th to ninth in this shortened year, but that doesn't matter when all is said and done. "Not getting in is the thing that will stand out for me. Either you're in or you're not," said captain Andrew Ladd. "At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how close you were. You didn't get in and you didn't get the job done. For me, it's the same result. You want to be a team that's in the playoffs every year and competing for a chance to win the Stanley Cup. Not having that chance the last three years is frustrating. You need to find some way to get in."

Ondrej Pavelec allowed four goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Montreal.
This was a must-win game for the hopeful Jets in order to remain in the playoff chase, but their hopes have faded as a result of the loss. Pavelec sports a 21-20-3 record for the season.

Blake Wheeler scored his 19th goal of the season for the Jets in a 4-2 loss to Montreal Thursday.
Wheeler has 41 points on the season including 10 over his last nine games, proving last season was no fluke. James Wright also scored a goal in the losing effort for the Jets.

Winnipeg coach Claude Noel didn't sound confident Wednesday that Zach Bogosian (upper body) would be able to play in Thursday's regular-season finale against Montreal.
His status was still set at "day-to-day" but Noel said "I'm not sure he'll be in the game [tonight]. It's not quite THAT day. How do you like that?" Bogosian had been excelling down the final stretch while scoring two goals and adding five assists in his last four games.

Ondrej Pavelec faced a great deal of rubber over the course of this season.
With the regular season close to being over, he currently sits second behind only Buffalo's Ryan Miller in shots against at a whopping total of 1,221. He also places second with 1,106 saves, but unfortunately he has the distinction of allowing the most goals this campaign with 115 pucks getting behind him and into the net. His .906 save percentage and a 2.77 GAA will concern fantasy owners, but coach Claude Noel has the luxury of not worrying about Pavelec's statistical prowess. He's still developing, according to Noel, and perhaps his numbers will get better along with that. The bottom line is the Jets need him to improve if they want to be a playoff team.

Nik Antropov generated a goal and an assist in Winnipeg's 5-3 loss to Washington Tuesday night.
It was his first game back since April 2 because of a lower-body injury and he displayed some good leadership while garnering 18:41 of ice time. Antropov was also credited with two hits and two blocked shots. He's unrestricted free agent this summer and his future with the club is uncertain.

The Jets need to win their final game of the season against Montreal on Thursday and get help if they are going to make the playoffs.
Winnipeg trails the Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers by just one point in the Eastern Conference standings, the Senators have two games remaining and the Rangers have two contests left. "It shouldn't be (difficult on Thursday)," said winger Blake Wheeler "It's the last one. One way or another we still have something to play for, even if it's just pride."

Ondrej Pavelec permitted four goals on 40 shots in a 5-3 loss to Washington Tuesday night with the Southeast Division title on the line.
Pavelec had accumulated a 6-0-1 record entering Tuesday's meeting with the Capitals, while enjoying some spectacular performances over that stretch. The Jets can still qualify for the postseason though and he'll be counted on to rebound in his next start.

Blake Wheeler notched his 18th goal in Winnipeg's 5-3 loss to Washington Tuesday night.
Wheeler has been red hot down the stretch, with four goals and eight assists in his past eight games. The Jets' defeat doesn't knock them out of playoff contention, but the Capitals have clinched the Southeast Division title. Evander Kane also found the back of the net for Winnipeg on a second-period power-play goal. Nik Antropov made a triumphant return to the lineup from a lower-body injury with a goal and an assist.

Ondrej Pavelec is expected to get the starting turn against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
Pavelec will need to be on his "A" game Tuesday night. The Jets are only one point behind the Capitals in the Southeast Division but have played one more game than Washington. Winnipeg needs to win Tuesday to keep its playoff hopes afloat.

Nik Antropov (lower body) is expected to be available to play Tuesday night against Washington.
He has been sidelined since April 2 with a lower-body ailment, but it sounds like he will draw back into the lineup in the place of Kyle Wellwood, who was hurt in Monday's win over Buffalo.

Kyle Wellwood suffered a long-term hand injury Monday night, which will likely end his season.
He blocked a shot from Thomas Vanek in the second period and returned to finish the stanza, but didn't play in the third. Nik Antropov is projected to be available to play and take Wellwood's place in the lineup.

Antti Miettinen scored the game-winning goal for Winnipeg Monday night.
He also finished the Jets' 2-1 victory with a plus-2 rating despite getting just 9:54 pf ice time. Mittinen was playing in his first game since April 4 after he had been relegated to the press box. He finished the game alongside James Wright and Evander Kane when Kyle Wellwood got injured.

Evander Kane did not participate in Saturday's warmup and admitted that he isn't playing at full health after Monday's win over Buffalo.
He was asked if he's at 100 percent and he responded, "I don't think anybody is this time of year. You've got to play through some injuries and some pain and this is the time where you've got to step up and play for your teammates."

Derek Meech got back into Winnipeg's lineup Monday night for the first time since April 1.
He registered an assist, which was his first point in 16 appearances with his hometown Jets, and had a plus-1 rating in 19:53 of ice time. Meech got back into the fold because of Zach Bogosian's injury.

Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 24 of 25 shots in a 2-1 win over the Sabres Monday night.
Starting Pavelec on any given night is always an adventure for fantasy owners. Some nights he provides the Jets and fantasy owners with legitimate number one goaltending and on other nights he leaves a lot to be desired. Pavelec is far too inconsistent to be counted on as more than a fill-in starter in deeper formats. However, he is still the clear frontrunner in Winnipeg and is worthy of a roster stash for favorable matchups.

Dustin Byfuglien registered an assist in the Jets' 2-1 win over the Sabres Monday night.
Byfuglien is a great player to own in several leagues because of his versatility. With the helper tonight, the category-stuffing defenseman has 26 points in 41 games in this 48-game shortened season.

Andrew Ladd has earned the NHL's first star of the week.
Ladd had two goals and eight points in three games last week. That's part of a larger seven-game points streak that's help the Jets keep their postseason hopes alive. Ladd will try to extend his hot streak on Monday against the Buffalo Sabres.

Zach Redmond has been summoned from the minors.
Redmond was sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment, which has been completed. He suffered a serious cut to his femoral artery during a Jets practice on Feb. 21. He required surgery but remarkably appears set to aide the Jets in their fight for a playoff spot.

Olli Jokinen's lower-body injury is a high-ankle sprain.
In other words, Jokinen should miss Winnipeg's final three regular season games. He had seven goals and 14 points in 45 contests this season.

Zach Bogosian's upper body injury might be a concussion.
Bogosian appeared to be the victim of a high hit by the Islanders' Kyle Okposo. Bogosian left that contest before attempting to return and eventually being shutdown. "We got a protocol to follow in his situation, so we'll follow that road," Jets head coach Claude Noel said. Bogosian isn't traveling with the team, so he won't play on Monday and is extremely doubtful for Tuesday's contest.

Zach Bogosian suffered an upper-body injury Saturday against the Islanders.
Jets coach Claude Noel didn't provide much detail on their his status, according to the Winnipeg Sun's Ken Wiebe. Bogosian had a goal and two penalty minutes in 18:32.

Kyle Wellwood scored two goals in a 5-4 shootout loss Saturday.
Bryan Little and Zach Bogosian each netted a goal for the Jets. Grant Clitsome and Andrew Ladd each assisted on two of Winnipeg's four goals.

Ondrej Pavelec saved 29 of 33 shots in a 5-4 shootout defeat Saturday.
Pavelec allowed two goals in three shootout attempts. That ended his five-game winning streak and dropped his record to 20-18-3 in 2013.

Olli Jokinen suffered a lower body injury during Saturday's game against the New York Islanders.
Jokinen isn't expected to return to the contest. His leg reportedly appeared to twist awkwardly and that might be the cause of the ailment.

Evander Kane, who seemed to injure his hand in a game against the Hurricanes Thursday, will be able to play Saturday afternoon against the Islanders.
He didn't practice Friday but Jets' coach Claude Noel indicated it was just a maintenance day off. Keep Kane active for Saturday's crucial contest.

The Jets will keep their defense pairings the same for Saturday afternoon's game against the Islanders after coach Claude Noel shuffled them Thursday night against Carolina.
Zach Bogoisian will play alongside Grant Clitsome and will have the unenviable task of lining up against the Islanders' top liine of John Tavares, Matt Moulson and Brad Boyes. Dustin Byfuglien will team up with Ron Hainsy, while Mark Stuart and Paul Postma wil form the third pairing. Adjust your roster accordingly.

You can bet that Ondrej Pavelec will be between the pipes Saturday afternoon against the Islanders.
This is a huge game for both teams and we have not doubt that barring an injury Pavelec will be the starter.

The Jets' top line of Andrew Ladd, Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler has been on fire the last two weeks.
In Winnipeg's last six games the unit has produced 31 points more than any other line in the NHL over that span. Ladd, who himself has four goals and eight assists, has been the driving force as the Jets' push for a playoff spot. "There's that thing that you really can't put your finger on," said Wheeler when asked to explain their chemistry. "It just kinda works when you play well with certain guys and things go well". Ride all three players while they are hot.

Ondrej Pavelec allowed three goals on 27 shots Thursday, but still earned a win as the Jets outscored Carolina by a count of 4-3.
Pavelec's performance this season hasn't been drastically different than in the prior two years, which is to say he's been mediocre at best. There are certainly worse options around the NHL, but Pavelec is below the median in terms of his standing in the league.

Blake Wheeler scored a goal and added two assists for the Jets in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over Carolina.
This was the second consecutive three-point effort for Wheeler, who has now recorded 10 points during his current five-game scoring streak. Andrew Ladd collected three assists in the win while defensemen Dustin Byfuglien, Paul Postma and Zach Bogosian all scored for the Jets.

Evander Kane has been whistled for 23 minor penalties this year, which currently has him tied for the second-most in the NHL.
Kane doesn't feel like the officials are picking on him though and he often communicates openly with them on the ice. "It's part of the game," Kane said. "A couple of referees, they reffed in the WHL when I was playing. I know them. So somebody thinks I'm yelling at them but we're just talking. It's pretty friendly most of the time but I'm an emotional guy. I've been yelling at the referees since I was five years old playing hockey. It's probably not going to stop. They know that. It's nothing personal. I think they know the type of player I am. And sometimes they yell back at you." With 16 goals, 31 points, 130 hits, 176 shots and 76 penalty minutes in 43 games, Kane has provided fantasy owners with plenty of bang for their buck during the lockout-shortened season.

Coach Claude Noel appreciates the efforts of his top line.
Bryan Little, Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler have carried the majority of the offensive load for the team all season and Noel went as far to call them a legitimate No. 1 line in the NHL. "You've really got to tip your hat to them, the three of them, they've done a good job at becoming a top line in the National Hockey League," Noel said. "Whereas before, even last year, you're like, 'Are they or aren't they or what are they?' Well, it's pretty hard to argue right now. They've certainly matured there." Evander Kane is the only forward outside that trio who has produced somewhat consistently this campaign.

He may suit up as early as this weekend for the St. John's IceCaps. He sustained a serious cut to his femoral artery and lost a lot of blood at practice back on Feb. 21. He required hours of surgery and it's incredible that he's ready to play again, not just this year but at all.

Alexander Burmistrov logged a season-high 20:45 of ice time in Tuesday's shootout win against Tampa Bay.
The Jets third line of Burmistrov, Eric Tangradi and Mike Santorelli was praised for their work after the contest by coach Claude Noel. "I thought they were outstanding," Noel said. "I thought they were really good. That was one of the better games I've seen Burmi play. He was really good." From a fantasy standpoint, Burmistrov had two shots, a minus-1 rating and four hits. He's taking a defensive role as the regular season nears completion.

Andrew Ladd has elevated his game with the Winnipeg Jets chasing a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
He registered two goals and one assist in Tuesday's victory over Tampa Bay and he scored the shootout-clinching goal. His three-point effort extending his recent scoring streak to five games, which has seen him rack up four markers and five assists. Ladd leads the team with 18 goals and 41 points in 43 games and he's been their offensive catalyst all season long.

Mike Santorelli scored again in Tuesday's shootout.
He is 10 for 19 in his career during the NHL's breakaway competition, which gives him some value to the Winnipeg Jets down the stretch. "I'm glad it went in," Santorelli said. "I'll help any way I can. I just kind of read off the goalie. I've got a couple of moves. I just go in thinking of one and take whatever. Today my was first one but I was a little bit nervous. I'm glad we got the extra point." The Jets are tied with the New York Rangers for the final playoff spot so any extra points they can muster in shootouts could be the difference down the stretch. Santorelli has one regulation time point, an assist, in five games with Winnipeg since being claimed off waivers from Florida.

Blake Wheeler generated a goal and two assists in Winnipeg's 4-3 shootout victory versus Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
He has two goals and five helpers in his past four games after going scoreless in his previous six contests. Winnipeg captain Andrew Ladd enjoyed a strong game as well with two goals and an assist. He also supplied the Jets with the shootout-clincher. Zach Bogosian finished the match with two helpers.

Ondrej Pavelec wasn't at his best in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over Tampa Bay, but he earned his 19th win with 24 saves.
Winnipeg blew a 3-1 lead in the third period, but they got two important points to their playoff hunt by winning in the shootout. Pavelec has been very good of late while helping the Jets earn four straight victories. He has a .906 save percentage and a 2.75 GAA on the year.

Ondrej Pavelec is expected to get the start Tuesday night.
Pavelec and the Jets haven't played since April 11 when the 6-foot-3 Pavelec stopped 25 of 27 shots in a 7-2 win. Pavelec almost never sits out a game and with the Jets streaking, he's worth a look for goalie-needy owners.

Nik Antropov skated Tuesday for the first time since suffering a lower-body injury.
Antropov was originally projected to miss two weeks with the injury but is a couple days behind that schedule. The Jets say he's day-to-day and could return this week. Antropov has five goals and 16 points this season.

According to Renaud Lavoie of RDS, the Jets have signed Adam Lowry to a three-year, entry-level deal.
His report surfaced late Monday night. Lowry, who was selected in the third round of the 2011 draft by Winnipeg, has one assist in six games since joining the St. John's IceCaps of the AHL on an amateur tryout agreement.

It's not a great sign at all that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Tobias Enstrom is being listed as "week-to-week" instead of a day-to-day.
With that in mind, it seems like just a formality that the underrated offensive blueliner will be placed on the IR. As effective as he is as a scorer, injuries are making him a riskier pick with each season.

Zach Redmond is expected to practice on Sunday for the first time since suffering a serious cut to his leg in February.
"No restrictions at all," said Redmond, who resumed skating last week. "I probably have to go through a week of practice before I'm cleared for game stuff. We'll see. The coaches, a lot of it is in their hands, whether they think I'm fit to play or whatever. But it's a good first step."

Evander Kane scored two goals in Winnipeg's 7-2 victory Thursday.
Dustin Byfuglien, Grant Clitsome, and Andrew Ladd each scored a goal and registered an assist for Winnipeg. Aaron Gagnon and Chris Thorburn accounted for the Jets' other two goals. Bryan Little and Zach Bogosian each assisted on two of Winnipeg's seven markers.

Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 25 of 27 shots in a 7-2 win Thursday.
Pavelec allowed two goals on nine shots in the first period, but was otherwise perfect. He was won three straight starts, bringing his record up to 18-18-2 this season.

Bryan Little will play Thursday but says he won't be taking faceoffs against Florida.
He was hit in the hand by a shot from teammate Ron Hainsey in Tuesday's win over Buffalo. Little left the contest briefly but he returned.

Tobias Enstrom won't play Thursday because of a middle-body injury.
He was hurt in Tuesday's contest and didn't skate Wednesday. Paul Postma will dress in his place against the Florida Panthers.

Paul Postma is probably the most likely candidate to go into the lineup if Tobias Enstrom is deemed unfit to play because of his mid-body issue.
In 27 games this season, Postma has eight points and a minus-4 rating. The Jets may also decide to go with Derek Meech and are less likely to go with much less inexperienced blueliners of Jacob Trouba or Arturs Kulda. Coach Claude Noel will see how Enstrom feels after the morning skate and make a determination.

Ondrej Pavelec's 2,121:57 of ice time is the second-most among NHL goaltenders this season.
He trails only Nashville's Pekke Rinne in that category and isn't likely to get much, if any, rest down the stretch as the Jets try to grab a playoff spot. "It doesn't concern me too much with him because I think he's managed it well," said coach Claude Noel. "(Goaltending coach) Wade Flaherty has helped him through that. He's a young guy. If he was older as an athlete I think it would be tougher. But I think it's good for him and I think he's enjoying it. He views this a challenge and is ready to take this step. I talked to him this morning and he feels good. He goes out for the optionals (practices), he's trying to figure ways to manage it. He has logged a lot of time, but his play has been really good. It's hard to argue with the way he's played."

Tobias Enstrom did not participate in Wednesday's practice because of a middle-body issue.
"He's day-to-day, he's a little bit sore today so I'm not sure what will happen there," coach Claude Noel said. "And I'm not sure who would go in, if that's your follow-up question. We'll see tomorrow in the morning." If Enstrom can't play Thursday then Paul Postma or Derek Meech may be the most likely candidates to step into the lineup.

Anthony Peluso (hand) returned to practice Tuesday.
It marked the first time he had done so since breaking a bone in his hand on March 2. "I guess right now it'll be day to day, (that's how) we'll take it," Peluso said. "I haven't really talked to the trainers about it. That's coming from me. I mean, if it was up to me, I'd be in the lineup tonight. There's protocols to follow." Coach Claude Noel said it may take some extra time for Peluso to get back into game shape.

Aaron Gagnon registered his first NHL goal in Winnipeg's 4-1 win over Buffalo on Tuesday night.
He was credited with the game-winning tally in his third contest this season since coming up from the minors. Gagnon had two assists in his previous 30 NHL appearances.

Bryan Little left Tuesday's game against Buffalo briefly after he was hit in the hand by a shot from teammate Ron Hainsey.
He did managed to return to the contest though. Little had two assists and logged 16:13 of ice time in Winnipeg's 4-1 win over the Sabres. He has four points in his last two games after going pointless in his previous six.

Tobias Enstrom was forced to leave Tuesday's game after being on the receiving end of a hit.
He tried to play a shift afterward but had to exit after coach Claude Noel said, "it just seized up. It's just something that happens when you put stress on muscles." Enstrom's night ended following just six shifts and 5:26 of ice time. He is listed as day-to-day.

Andrew Ladd generated a goal and an assist on Tuesday in Winnipeg's 4-1 victory versus Buffalo.
The goal was his first since March 14, which amounts to a span of 13 games. Ladd has recorded 15 goals and 36 points in 41 contests this year to lead the Jets in scoring. Bryan Little contributed two assists in Tuesday's win.

Ondrej Pavelec made 29 saves in a 4-1 win over Buffalo Tuesday night.
He has won straight games in impressive fashion following four consecutive losses in disappointing outings. Starting Pavelec on any given night is always an adventure for fantasy owners because you never know which version of him will show up.

Ondrej Pavelec is expected to be in goal against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.
Pavelec stopped 30 of 31 shots to win his last start, which stopped a three-game skid that saw the Jets' netminder allow four goals in each loss. Pavelec remains a consistent starter but he's too streaky to be trusted in most formats.

Jacob Trouba skated Monday with the Jets at practice, but there's no timetable in place for when he'll make his NHL debut.
Winnipeg's first-round pick, ninth overall, in the 2012 draft signed his first pro deal with the team last week. Trouba may not see much action with the Jets entering the stretch run with his teammates trying to get a playoff spot, but he is expected to be a key part of their future. "I'm just practicing, learning, watching games and trying to pick up and seeing what I can learn from everybody out there," said Trouba, who will continue to soak up the NHL experience for now. "I'm just trying to get better. Everybody's been really nice. They've welcomed me here and have been helping me out as much as they can, so I'm thankful for that."

Bryan Little had a goal an assist in the Jets' 4-1 win over the Flyers Saturday afternoon.
Winnipeg's top offensive line of Little, Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd came up big in Saturday's contest. The trio combined for a grand total of five points in the win. "It was nice to see some results, for sure," Andrew Ladd said. "We were struggling a little bit putting the puck in the net, and to finally get some offence going was definitely a great thing for us." With the two-point night, Little now has 23 points in 40 games this season.

Zach Redmond returned to the ice Friday six weeks after suffering a life-threating cut to the leg.
Redmond skated for the first time after suffering a lacerated femoral artery during a practice in late February. "Just seeing him definitely took your mind off of what was going on, first and foremost," Andrew Ladd said. "To see him back and doing so well is awesome for everyone in this room. It took our mind away from things going on, and all the negativity, and you just focus on how well he's doing and having him around again."

James Wright was activated from the IL on Saturday April 6.

Grant Clitsome returned to action on Thursday April 4.

Alexander Burmistrov scored the only Winnipeg goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens.
The Russian forward has yet to take the type of step forward the Jets had hoped for and Burmistrov's name was bandied about in numerous trade rumors leading up to the deadline, which may have jolted him back to life. Thursday's goal was his fourth of the campaign in 35 games.

Ondrej Pavelec allowed four goals on 24 shots Thursday as the Jets were beaten by Montreal by a score of 4-1.
The loss is the fourth in a row that Pavelec has been saddled with and it seems he and his teammates are hitting a rut at precisely the wrong time in the season. Despite his recent struggles, look for Pavelec to continue seeing plenty of action down the stretch.

Adam Lowry has signed an amateur tryout agreement with Winnipeg's AHL affiliate in St. John's.
He notched 45 goals and 88 points, with 102 penalty minutes, in 72 games with the Swift Current Broncos of the WHL this past season. He was selected in the third round of the 2011 draft by the Jets.

Aaron Gagnon is back up with the Winnipeg Jets.
He was summoned from AHL St. John's on Wednesday. Gagnon played seven games with the Jets last season, but he hasn't seen any NHL action yet in the compacted campaign. He was just named the AHL Player of the Month for March after he recorded a point in all 11 of the IceCaps' games. He ended up with nine goals and nine assists over that span.

Patrice Cormier was returned to the minors on Wednesday.
He posted 15 hits and no points in 10 games during his big-league call up with the Jets.

The Winnipeg Jets sent the message following the trade deadline that they won't mortgage the future to make the playoffs right now.
"The hardest thing for me is to try and accelerate a process that can't be accelerated," said GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. "It's a vicious circle. If you don't draft players and develop them into assets, then you can't do anything on a deadline day. If you choose to trade your draft picks for assets for the now, you forgo the opportunity to build a sustainable system with a sustainable flow of players." The Jets didn't make a move as the clock ticked down Wednesday despite their tenuous Southeast Division lead, which may have irked their fan base, but the team doesn't want to make the mistakes that the Atlanta Thrashers did in 2007.

Nik Antropov is projected to miss two weeks with a lower-body injury.
Now the Jets acquisition of Mike Santorelli from the waiver wire from the Florida Panthers makes a little more sense. Antropov has recorded five goals and 16 points in 38 contests this year.

Mike Santorelli has been claimed off waivers from Florida by Winnipeg.
Just an FYI though, as Santorelli probably won't have any fantasy value with the Jets.

Mark Stuart returned to action on Tuesday April 2.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed prospect Jacob Trouba to an entry-level contract.
"I am very pleased to announce we've come to terms. He'll be coming to Winnipeg. Jacob will join the team and get acclimated with the club," GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said during the second intermission of Tuesday night's match with the New York Islanders. Trouba isn't expected to take on a big role with the Jets and any time he sees from now until the end of the year will probably be limited. Still, he is a very good prospect who should be on your watch list especially for next season.

Grant Clitsome saw a specialist Tuesday after having the eye stitched up Monday night, but he was back on the ice in the morning.
He didn't play against the Islanders on Tuesday night, but he appears to be all right. "Once I saw (the specialist) and he fully cleared me and said there were no scratches or damage to my eyeball... that was really good news," said Clitsome. "It feels good. My peripheral vision is not great because of the swelling. Under my eyelid it's split, so it kind of feels like I have eyelashes in my eye and that feeling just makes my eyes water and it makes it hard to get clear vision." It doesn't sound like he'll be out for very long after he took a stick to his eye in Monday's loss to the Rangers.

Dustin Byfuglien played some of Tuesday's game as a forward in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders.
He switched from defense to right wing in the contest and played on the top line with Bryan Little and Andrew Ladd. "We've got to win games. I'll determine (whether Byfuglien will remain up front) later, I'm not going to determine that tonight," said coach Claude Noel following the defeat. "We'll see how it goes. But we've got to win games, that's the bottom line and that's what our task has been for some time." Byfuglien's promotion shifted Blake Wheeler to the second unit alongside Evander Kane and Olli Jokinen. Noel seemed to like his new on-the-fly combinations and 'Big Buff' said he's fine with the move if that's where he's needed, so the experiment may not be over yet.

Ondrej Pavelec allowed four goals on 38 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Islanders on Tuesday night.
He has dropped three consecutive games now and he's permitted 11 goals against over that span. Pavelec has not been a safe option this season and he appears to unraveling a bit down the stretch.

Paul Postma returned to Winnipeg's lineup with a bang Tuesday night with two goals in a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders.
It was his first game since March 24 and he got back into action due to an injury to Grant Clitsome. Postma has eight points in 26 games with the Jets. Eric Tangradi picked up an assist on both of his goals.

Grant Clitsome left Monday's game against the Rangers after he took a stick to his eye early in the first period.
His night ended after just two shifts and 48 seconds of ice time, but coach Claude Noel doesn't think the prognosis will be too serious. "It's day-to-day. We're not sure where he's at," said Noel. "It's just swollen shut. I think he's going to be okay. That's what it looks like right now. We're just trying to control the swelling and look further into it." That being said, he probably won't be available for Tuesday's match-up versus the Islanders.

Blake Wheeler has registered just two assists and no goals in his last seven matches.
The Jets have received some great contributions this season from their top line of Wheeler, Andrew Ladd and Bryan Little. However, points have been harder to come by for the team's number one trio recently. We don't expect them to remain quiet for much longer though.

Andrew Ladd hasn't scored a goal in his past 10 games.
The Winnipeg captain has been a steady point producer this season, but he's been getting cold of late which isn't good news for his postseason aspirations. Ladd hasn't posted a point in four straight contests, which is his longest drought of the year. He still leads the Jets with 32 points in 37 games though and he should get back on track with the team vying for a playoff spot down the stretch.

Nick Antropov potted a goal in the Jets' 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers Monday night.
Antropov has slightly picked up his play of late but he still has fairly marginal fantasy value. Just remember that consistency hasn't been his specialty if you decide to take a chance on him.

Ondrej Pavelec turned aside 31 of the 35 shots he faced in a 4-2 loss to New York Monday night.
Pavelec is far too inconsistent to be counted on as more than a fill-in starter in deeper formats. Some nights he provides the Jets and fantasy owners with legitimate number one goaltending and on other nights like tonight, he leaves a lot to be desired. However, he is still the clear frontrunner in Winnipeg and is worthy of a roster stash for favorable matchups.
