Niklas Backstrom, G
2010/01/09: Niklas Backstrom got lit up in the Wild's 6-5 shootout win over Chicago Saturday night. Backstrom allowed five goals on only 12 shots. He was replaced by Josh Harding who stopped all 13 shots he faced in regulation. |

Niklas Backstrom, G
2010/01/09: Niklas Backstrom's next victory will tie Manny Fernandez's mark for career wins with the Wild. Backstrom currently has 112 wins for the Wild in his career. "To actually be here in this locker room and just playing for the NHL is a big achievement for me," Backstrom said. "But wins are the things you remember, and you want more of them. I played with Manny for a year, and I know how good of a player he is and what he did for this locker room and for this team. And especially for me. So to get that milestone, it would be special." Backstrom is scheduled to get the start in goal for Minnesota on Saturday. Adjust your lineup if you need to. (Source: Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune) |

Kyle Brodziak, C
2010/01/08: Kyle Brodziak scored on Wednesday for the first time since November 5. Brodziak had four goals in the first month of the season, but it was a two month drought until his fifth. Coach Todd Richards is pleased with his play of late. "He's made a conscious effort to be more gritty, more physical, and because of that, it puts him in positions -- in the corners, in front of the net -- where you're going to get opportunities," Richards said. "When you get your nose involved a little bit, and you get a little bit dirty, a lot of times you get rewarded." We cannot recommend Brodziak, but he should reach 12-15 goals this season. Brent Burns, D
2010/01/07: Brent Burns (concussion) has been skating for the last two weeks. Burns still needs medical clearance, but he is definitely improving. "He's been doing a lot of work with [Chris Pietrzak-Wegner, the Wild's strength and conditioning coach]," GM Chuck Fletcher said. "We continue to push him physically. So long as he continues to be symptom-free, we'll continue his progression." Stay tuned as Burns does have a lot of offensive upside. (Source: Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune) |

Clayton Stoner, D
2010/01/07: Clayton Stoner missed Wednesday's game with a groin injury. Stoner has been having groin problems of late and aggravated it this week, so he was unable to play. He has little fantasy value, with only one assist in eight games, although he has been in two fights. (Source: Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune) |

Owen Nolan, RW/LW
2010/01/07: Minnesota Wild winger Owen Nolan returned to action on Wednesday January, 6. |

Niklas Backstrom, G
2010/01/06: Niklas Backstrom turned aside 25 of 26 Calgary shots in Minnesota's 4-1 win Wednesday night. Backstrom had struggled in his past two starts, allowing eight combined goals in losses to the Devils and Kings. But he hadn't had much help, as the Wild had not played well in front of him, dropping four straight decisions before Wednesday night's victory. Backstrom improves to 19-14-3 with the win. |

Eric Belanger, C
2010/01/06: Eric Belanger netted two goals in Minnesota's 4-1 win over Calgary Wednesday night. Belanger's second multi-goal game of the season raises his total to eleven, giving the Wild pivot 24 points in 43 games. Kyle Brodziak and Cal Clutterbuck netted the other Minnesota markers. More importantly the win snaps a four-game losing streak for Minnesota. |

Robbie Earl, LW/RW
2010/01/06: Robbie Earl has been recalled from AHL Houston. Earl has already played in nine games with the Wild this season and he'll have to pass through waivers if Minnesota tries to send him down again after he plays in his 10th game. The only way Minnesota can get around that is if a forward that is currently thought to be healthy is injured. If that's the case than the Wild will only have 12 healthy forwards for Wednesday's game, including Earl, which would make this an emergency recall. As an emergency recall, Earl can be sent down to the minors without passing through waivers. (Source: Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune) |

Owen Nolan, RW/LW
2010/01/06: Owen Nolan (leg) has not skated since Saturday's game against New Jersey. He missed Tuesday's game with a leg injury and should be considered day-to-day for now. (Source: Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune) |

Andrew Ebbett, C
2010/01/06: Andrew Ebbett has been held without a point in nine games since returning from a concussion. Prior to the injury, he had been playing much better netting three goals in seven contests. Ebbett has no fantasy value though. (Source: Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune) |

Josh Harding, G
2010/01/05: Josh Harding was shaky as the Wild lost to the Black Hawks 4-1 Tuesday night. Harding made 29 saves on 33 shots. He is now a measly 2-6-0 on the season. |

|
Owen Nolan, RW/LW
2010/01/05: Owen Nolan will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's contest in Chicago. It appears as though he has a leg injury as he has been seen limping of late. Nolan has not skated the past three days, so a return does not seem that likely. (Source: Russo's Rants) |
