PLAYER NEWS
Maxim Afinogenov, RW/LW
2009/11/20:  Maxim Afinogenov collected two more points Thursday, raising his season total to 19. He has eight goals and is a nice complement to Ilya Kovalchuk on the top line. He just needed to get out of Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff's doghouse. He should hover near the point-per-game mark all season. (Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
LATEST NEWS
Bryan Little, RW
2009/11/20:  Thrashers forward Bryan Little returned to action on Thursday, November 19.
Ondrej Pavelec, G
2009/11/19:  Ondrej Pavelec was excellent on Thursday night, making 39 saves on 42 shots, but it wasn't enough in a 4-3 loss in a shootout to the Bruins. Pavelec's record falls to 6-6-1 on the year and he has dropped three of his last four starts.
Ilya Kovalchuk, LW
2009/11/19:  Ilya Kovalchuk registered a goal and two assists in the Thrashers' 4-3 shootout loss to Boston on Thursday. Maxim Afinogenov notched a goal and a helper, while defenseman Tobias Enstrom earned a pair of assists in the contest. Nik Antropov scored his first goal of the season in the defeat as well.
Ondrej Pavelec, G
2009/11/19:  Ondrej Pavelec will start Thursday against the Bruins. Johan Hedberg will get the start Saturday against the Penguins. The Thrashers have settled into a platoon with their two goalies, riding the hot hand. Pavelec is the better fantasy option, but as a rookie, he'll be prone to both good and bad streaks. Pavel Kubina, D
2009/11/18:  Pavel Kubina (lower body) was on the ice for Wednesday`s practice. Kubina didn`t play on Sunday due to the injury, but he might be healthy enough to play in Thursday`s game. We`ll keep you posted. (Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
Bryan Little, RW
2009/11/18:  Bryan Little (groin) participated in Atlanta`s Wednesday morning practice. Little could return to the Thrashers lineup on Thursday. He has two goals and eight points in 15 games this season. (Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
Bryan Little, RW
2009/11/17:  Bryan Little (groin) and Pavel Kubina (lower body soreness) skated prior to Tuesday's morning skate. However, they left the ice before their teammates took to the ice for their practice session. Little has missed two games with a slight groin injury, while Kubina has at out one contest with lower-body soreness after blocking a shot on Friday. Their status for Thursday's game is unclear at this time, but we will keep you up to date. (Source: Thrashers Blog)
Ilya Kovalchuk, LW
2009/11/16:  Ilya Kovalchuk was named the NHL's second star of the week. Kovalchuk returned on Thursday after missing six games due to a foot injury and immediately went about the task of making up for lost time. He scored three goals and registered five assists in his last three games. (Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
Pavel Kubina, D
2009/11/15:  Pavel Kubina missed Sunday's game with lower body soreness. Details of the injury are unclear. Bench him for now. (Source: Associated Press)
Bryan Little, RW
2009/11/15:  Bryan Little missed his second straight game with a groin strain. It looks more like a nagging injury than a serious one, but it may hound him for a few more games. Bench him until he actually suits up. (Source: Associated Press)
Johan Hedberg, G
2009/11/15:  Johan Hedberg stopped 34 shots in a 3-2 win over Edmonton. The win improved the veteran's record to 4-1 on the season. He is splitting time with Ondrej Pavelec of late, so he's worth owning in deeper fantasy leagues.
Vyacheslav Kozlov, LW
2009/11/15:  Slava Kozlov's first goal of the season was the winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Edmonton. Kozlov also assisted on Zach Bogosian's goal. Maxim Afinogenov had the other Atlanta goal while Rich Peverley chipped in with two assists.
Johan Hedberg, G
2009/11/15:  Johan Hedberg will start Sunday against the Oilers, according to Thrashers broadcaster Dan Kamal. The Thrashers have been playing both Hedberg and Ondrej Pavelec evenly over the past two weeks. Hedberg is worth picking up as a handcuff for Pavelec owners. (Source: Twitter.com/dankamal)
Ondrej Pavelec, G
2009/11/14:  Lost in the 7-0 rout of the Kings Friday night was the outstanding 38-save performance of goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. He made many excellent stops and recorded his first career shutout. As we have said many times already, the Thrashers are a team on the rise and Pavelec is a very promising young goaltender. Looks like a good fantasy buying opportunity to us.
