ImpactCzuczman took a two-minute minor for hooking and finished the game with a minus-two rating in the Islanders' 6-0 loss to Minnesota. He admitted to being nervous and how quickly guys move in the NHL was a new experience for him. "My job's going to be that adjustment, catching up to the speed, but I'm confident in my skating ability and feel I can play at this level," he said.

Impact"Jeff Napierala, their scout, he's been watching me since I was a freshman. He saw something in me and he deserves a lot of credit," Czuczman said. "Doug Weight [Islanders assistant coach and a former Lake Superior player] has talked to me a lot, too. And I worked out this summer with John Tavares and Ryan Strome." Czuczman inked an entry-level deal with the Islanders after the undrafted free agent made a name for himself in the NCAA. He will skip the minors for now, but he might spent a couple games in the press box before making his Islanders' debut.
