Boone Jenner notches lone goal in Game 5 loss | 04/26/2014 9:54 PM
NewsBoone Jenner scored the lone goal for the Blue Jackets in their 3-1 loss in Game 5 of their first-round series with the Penguins.
ImpactThe Blue Jackets got off to a strong start, as Jenner, with his third of the playoffs (and fifth point), picked up the game's first goal at 12:55 of the first period on the power play. However, they really couldn't generate consistent pressure in this one to test Marc-Andre Fleury enough. David Savard and Ryan Johansen got the assists. The Blue Jackets trail in the series 3-2.

Boone Jenner impressive for Blue Jackets | 04/19/2014 10:15 AM
NewsRookie Boone Jenner was one of the more effective members of the Columbus Blue Jackets in their Game 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.
ImpactJenner played nearly 17 minutes on Wednesday, with an assist and seven hits. The physical style is very much to Jenner's liking, and his constant skating and hitting drew the ire of Penguins stars Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang. He's expecting more of the same in Game 2 today, and beyond. "I think it's going to ramp up even more," Jenner said. "We're going right back into their building, and it's going to be a close, tight game. When you play in a long series, we want to invest in getting the puck in deep and hitting them. If we just keep doing that, it's a long series and hopefully we can wear them down."
Boone Jenner's two points not enough for CBJ | 04/11/2014 10:59 PM
NewsBoone Jenner notched a goal and an assist but it was not enough for the Blue Jackets, as they fell 3-2 to the Bolts on Friday night.
ImpactJenner has 16 goals and 28 points in 71 games for the Jackets, including three goals and five points in his past four games. The Jackets missed an opportunity to pass Philadelphia for the third seed in the Metropolitan Division, and will now need a win in their final game, along with the Flyers to lose one of their remaining two games in regulation in order to climb out of the Wild Card.

ImpactColumbus upended the lowly Florida Panthers behind the top line of Jenner, Ryan Johansen and Nathan Horton as they combined for six points. The line scored both goals in the first period, giving Jenner nine goals and 16 points this season in 45 games. He is worth owning as long as he remains on the top line.
Boone Jenner fights after knocking out Green | 01/31/2014 9:29 AM
NewsBoone Jenner got into his first fight in a regular season game after delivering a shoulder check that knocked Washington's Mike Green out of Thursday's contest.
ImpactJenner knocked Green off balance during a race to the end boards to the puck and then hit Green again as they reached the boards. Although Jenner's shoulder appeared to make contact principally with Green's shoulder, it also looked like Green's head hit the boards. Either way, Washington's Troy Brouwer dropped his gloves in defense of his teammate.
Boone Jenner's physical play impressing coach | 01/25/2014 9:52 AM
NewsRookie left wing Boone Jenner has two goals and two assists during the Blue Jackets' eight-game winning streak, but it's not just the points that have impressed coach Todd Richards.
ImpactTwo games ago, he delivered nine hits. Last game, he had four penalties -- which not only makes him a good fantasy player to have but a dude Richards likes coaching. "I'm not sure what he's going to be like when he's 26 or 27 years old, when he hits his prime," Richards said. "But I don't know if there are too many guys who are going to want to play against him when he's that old. You watch him play as a young kid against these guys now, and they struggle to play against him. He's so strong. He's tenacious. Those are great qualities to have." In 40 games, he has eight goals, five assists and a plus-4 rating. Three of his goals have been game-winners.
Boone Jenner scores twice in Jackets' win | 01/11/2014 10:06 PM
NewsBoone Jenner netted two goals in the Blue Jackets' 6-3 win over the Jets on Saturday night.
ImpactThe 20-year-old rookie has now scored in two straight games. Even though he has just eight goals and 12 points on the season, Jenner is a very talented player who has the ability to become a big-time player in time. His ice time is being capped a bit right now; he played 12:48 Saturday. Mark Letestu also scored twice, while Nick Foligno and Cam Atkinson also potted goals for Columbus. James Wisniewski and Derek MacKenzie each had two helpers apiece.
Boone Jenner plays center on Saturday | 01/05/2014 7:45 AM
NewsBoone Jenner was back at his natural center position on Saturday for the first time this season.
ImpactJenner replaced the suspended Derek MacKenzie at the spot and was minus-one as he won only four of 10 draws. MacKenzie still has another couple of games to serve so Jenner could get another shot in the middle. He has five goals and nine points with 24 penalty minutes in 32 games.
Boone Jenner scores for first time in 7 weeks | 12/07/2013 6:10 AM
NewsBoone Jenner scored for the first time since October 17 on Friday.
ImpactJenner had a couple of power play goals against Montreal in October and Friday night's goal was only his third of the season. Jenner is a solid two-way player but his fantasy value is not much at this time.
Jenner getting a bigger role with Gabby out | 11/23/2013 1:45 AM
NewsSince Marian Gaborik's been sidelined with a knee injury, Boone Jenner has seen a spike in responsibility in his absence.
ImpactPrior to Gabby's injury, Jenner was averaging just 13:08 per contest with barely any power play ice-time (29 seconds per game). Since Nov. 15th, Jenner has seen his ice-time creep up to 17:59 per game with a big boost of responsibility on the man advantage as he's garnering 2:48 per contest. The point production hasn't been there yet as he's posted zero points during the last four contests, but Jenner could be worth keeping an eye on as he's receiving the necessary ice-time to make him fantasy worthy down the track.

NewsJackets rookie Boone Jenner returned to the Blue Jackets' lineup Sunday in Ottawa after missing the previous nine games because of a leg injury.

NewsLook for Boone Jenner (leg) to return to the Columbus lineup on Sunday.
ImpactThe Blue Jackets play a matinee game at 1pm ET against the Ottawa Senators and Jenner could line up as a top-six forward after missing nine games with the leg injury. He has two goals this season in 10 games with both coming on the power play and is certainly worth looking at in deep pools as he is feisty and will pick up penalty minutes.
Boone Jenner will probably return Sunday | 11/15/2013 6:18 PM
NewsBoone Jenner (leg) is probable for Sunday's game.
ImpactBefore that though, Jenner will miss his ninth straight contest on Friday. He has two goals and 10 penalty minutes in nine games this season.

Boone Jenner nets pair against Habs | 10/17/2013 11:20 PM
NewsBoone Jenner scored the first two goals of his NHL career in Thursday's 5-3 loss to Montreal.
ImpactJenner supplied most of the Blue Jackets offense in this game, as Ryan Johansen was the only other member of the club to get a puck behind Carey Price. Johansen also added a helper in the losing effort.
Boone Jenner adjusting to speed of NHL | 10/15/2013 8:05 AM
NewsBoone Jenner still needs to adjust to the speed of the game.
ImpactJenner returned to the Blue Jackets' lineup on Saturday and Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards thought he gave an okay performance. "To me, there are still a few things . youth things, junior things . those kind of habits," Jenner said. "He works hard, he's strong. We have to get him to go to the net harder. And I think the speed of the puck -- playing fast . the way these guys pass the puck sometimes -- I'm finding that pucks are hitting his stick and he's not able to handle those quick, hard plays." Jenner has plenty of potential, but he might not end up having any fantasy value in 2013-14.
Boone Jenner out, Boll in for Thursday night | 10/10/2013 5:26 PM

NewsBoone Jenner might be a healthy scratch on Thursday.
Aaron Portzline on Twitter
ImpactJenner entered this season with a lot of promise, but he's fallen from grace quickly. The season is still young, so Jenner could certainly bounce back, but you might want to start looking at alternatives if you own him in a standard league.
Jenner gets fourth line minutes Saturday | 10/06/2013 7:47 AM
NewsBoone Jenner spent Saturday on the fourth line.
ImpactJenner lined up with Derek McKenzie and Mark Letestu and managed one shot on net in 10:14 minutes of action. He started the season on the top line with Marian Gaborik and Brandon Dubinsky but quickly was taken off the line as he struggled. "It was quick, but stuff happens," Jenner said of his short time on the first line. "We weren't going, I guess, so Coach Richards changed it up. I was nervous. I'm nervous before a lot of hockey games, and that was definitely the biggest game. Nationwide was buzzing. I enjoyed it, but it was good to get the first one out of the way." Look for Jenner to get another chance soon as he settles into the NHL.
Boone Jenner quickly yanked from top line | 10/05/2013 10:22 AM
NewsRookie left winger Boone Jenner opened the Blue Jackets' regular season on the team's first line with Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik but quickly was removed from it.
ImpactAfter only three shifts with Dubinsky and Gaborik during the Jackets' 4-3 loss to the Calgary Flames Friday, Jenner was cast about on other lines and saw his ice time shrink. He finished with only 10:27 of ice time over 12 shifts, and played only two shifts in the third period. "I thought Boone was one of those guys (to whom the game looked fast)," Columbus coach Todd Richards said. "A lot of our young guys in general, that happened to. I think (the Flames) had the advantage right away because they had played the night before. I think the speed of the game caught us off-guard early."
Richards confirms Jenner's spot on top line | 09/30/2013 1:08 PM
NewsBlue Jackets coach Todd Richards has confirmed that Boone Jenner will start the 2013-14 campaign on the team's top line.
ImpactBrandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik will play alongside Jenner. This is an ideal opportunity for the rookie and it's reason enough to grab him in standard leagues.
Boone Jenner likely to start on first line | 09/22/2013 7:52 AM
NewsIt appears that Boone Jenner will not only start the season with the Blue Jackets but on the first line.
ImpactJenner has fit in nicely with Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik on the left side. "I don't even know right now if it's (a) hard (decision)," coach Todd Richards said. "The way he's playing, he's fit right in with that line. There's still a long way to go. We have three more games, and once the season starts, who knows where it goes? But what I've seen from him, I've liked, and it starts in practice. He's driving us through practice at times, just with his work." While he will likely play most of his NHL career as a second or third line center, starting on the first line as a rookie is not a bad way to break into the NHL. Jenner could struggle at times but his solid two-way play should keep him in the NHL for a long time. Look for a 15 goal, 35 point season as he likely won't remain on the top line all season.
Boone Jenner impresses on top line Wednesday | 09/19/2013 7:04 AM
NewsBoone Jenner was very impressive on Wednesday as he played on the top line alongside Brandon Dubinsky and Marian Gaborik.
ImpactThe center played on the left side with Dubinsky in the middle and the trio led the Blue Jackets to a 5-4 win over Metropolitan division rivals, the Carolina Hurricanes as Jenner chipped in with a goal and an assist. "It was a very good line, a good mix," Columbus coach Todd Richards said. "I thought Dubi was really going hard tonight, really had a lot of jump. Gaborik has that ability to hurt you if you give him space, and he got into open space a few times. And Boone worked so hard. He really brought a good element to the mix." Jenner was drafted in the second round of the 2011 Draft and brings an all-round game to the Blue Jackets. His hard play all over the ice gives him a shot to make the team but he could probably use the ice time in the minors to start the season as he is likely to get limited minutes at best at the NHL level. He is going to be a good one as he is likely to be a second or third line center when he is at the peak of his game. Pass on him this
Boone Jenner aims for NHL position | 09/07/2013 6:16 PM
NewsBoone Jenner wants to earn an NHL roster spot with Columbus.
Impact"I'm going to do everything I can to stay in Columbus," Jenner said. "I had a good summer and was on a good training program [with Blue Jackets strength coach Kevin Collins]. I'm going to go out and give it everything I have got and play my game and see what happens. I know I'm going to have to earn it since nothing is given." Jenner got a taste of the AHL last season when he posted four points in five regular-season games and five in eight playoff outings with Springfield. If he can land a roster spot then it may be at right wing because off-season acquisition Nathan Horton won't start the 2013-14 campaign on time because of shoulder surgery.
Boone Jenner showing improvement in minors | 05/12/2013 9:07 AM
NewsBoone Jenner has been making a good impression with Springfield of the AHL.
Impact"To me, he's an improved player from what I saw at the end of last season (five games)," coach Brad Larsen said. "And I liked what I saw last year. He's just grown a lot. He's a confidence player, a big strong player. His speed has improved, and that's the No. 1 thing I've recognized. He's not lightning-fast. He'll never be that guy. But he's such a hard worker, and he's got enough speed to be where he needs to be." Jenner has two goals and an assist in six playoff games. He was a stud with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL this season as he had 45 goals and 82 points in 57 games.

NewsBoone Jenner scored the game winner Sunday as Springfield defeated Connecticut 4-3.
ImpactIt was Jenner's first AHL point and it occurred in his second game. The Blue Jackets are quite high on the all-round center and he could appear in an NHL game before the end of the season. He had 45 goals and 82 points in 57 OHL games and played for Team Canada at the World Juniors although he picked up a three game suspension for a charge on Jesper Petterssen in a tune-up game before the start of the Worlds.
Boone Jenner needs to prove himself in AHL | 04/12/2013 9:50 AM
NewsThe Columbus Blue Jackets want Boone Jenner to prove himself in the AHL before he gets to make his NHL debut.
Impact"I think with where our team is right now, competing for the playoffs and in general, everybody has to earn their spot on the team," Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen said. "He's a great young prospect, and we have a team in Springfield that we think is going to go far in the playoffs, so I think that's the right place for him to start right now." All the same, it wouldn't be surprising to see him play in a couple games for the Blue Jackets this season.
Boone Jenner will head to AHL Springfield | 04/11/2013 10:47 AM
NewsBoone Jenner will report to AHL Springfield.
ImpactJenner has 45 goals and 82 points in 56 OHL games this season. He might end making his NHL debut this season, but if he plays in over five games with the Blue Jackets than this will count as the first season of his entry-level deal.

Boone Jenner starts training camp on 4th line | 01/14/2013 8:24 AM
NewsBoone Jenner started training camp centering the fourth line.
ImpactJenner is a two-way center who was leading the OHL in goals before he left the Oshawa Generals in December to play for Canada at the World Juniors. He started ahead of former first round pick Ryan Johansen who saw duty on the fifth line but Johansen projects to be a top two center and there is no reason at this time to have him in a checking role. Jenner will end up being a good second or third center as he knows how to play defensively and can play well offensively.
Boone Jenner to be invited to NHL camp | 01/06/2013 3:14 PM
NewsBoone Jenner will be invited to the Columbus Blue Jackets' training camp.
Aaron Portzline on Twitter
ImpactWhether he sticks with the big club "will be determined by his performance," said John Davidson who is now the new president of hockey operations with the team. Jenner was selected in the second round of the 2011 draft by the Blue Jackets and not far from making the jump to the pro level.
