NewsThe Edmonton Oilers are looking for help on the third line and GM Craig MacTavish thinks that Anton Lander and/or Mark Arcobello are capable of doing the job.
ImpactMacTavish is looking for the Oilers to go with three scoring lines and while he is happy with the top line of Taylor Hall, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle, as well as the second unit with David Perron, Sam Gagner and likely whoever they select at three this year (Sam Bennett or Sam Reinhart as defenseman Aaron Ekblad will probably be gone at this point), they need someone to play with Nail Yakupov. Lander had only one assist in 27 games with the Oilers in 2013-14 but did manage 18 goals and 52 points in 46 AHL games.

NewsCoach Dallas Eakins was impressed by the play of Anton Lander on Saturday while giving him only 10 shifts.
ImpactLander was recalled on Thursday from Oklahoma City of the AHL where he has nine goals and 15 points in 18 games. "He hasn't made any mistakes, we're going to rely on him for the penalty kill and on faceoffs he's helped us being a left-handed shot," Eakins said. Lander has no value in fantasy hockey at this time.

ImpactHe was recalled after a big six point night on Saturday where he picked up the hat trick. He will be a healthy scratch on Monday as the Oilers will not ticker with a winning lineup especially after shutting out the Canucks 4-0 Saturday. "Bringing up another player puts pressure on people, keeps the other 12 forwards honest. He's a versatile player, a good depth player. He can move up and down the lineup. The six points he had (Saturday) doesn't hurt," said Oilers coach Ralph Krueger. His fantasy value will not be a lot as he will likely play as a bottom-six forward when he does get into the lineup.
