NewsMarcus Johansson will need a new contract this summer.
ImpactHe is a pending restricted free agent and is coming off his entry-level deal. He skated alongside Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom on Washington's top line for most of the season and coach Adam Oates praised Johansson's play down the stretch. He should get a nice bump in salary, but he'll probably have to prove himself further before he earns a substantial contract.

ImpactJohansson reportedly tweaked a lower-body injury. "He just said he was a little sore, so I said, `Get off' because I knew we were going to do a little skate at the end," Capitals coach Adam Oates said. Johansson's still expected to play Tuesday, but we're going to err on the side of caution and list him as day-to-day.
