Nothing materialized from that, but he still might end up being dealt before the summer's over. Caron had three points and 36 penalty minutes in 35 games last season.

NewsBoston has not given Jordan Caron a qualifying yet because they are trying to trade him.
CSN New England
Impact"We've got one prepared, but we're not sure yet," said GM Peter Chiarelli. "He's still young, he's been in and out of our lineup, and in fairness to him we've looked for another [NHL] spot for him. It wasn't out of the request of Jordan. He wants to stay in Boston, but at his age [24 in November], he also wants a chance to play on the regular basis." He suited up in 35 games with the Bruins in 2013-14 and he collected just three points.

NewsJordan Caron has been used sparingly this season.
ImpactAlthough Caron got a one-way contract for the 2013-14 campaign, he hasn't been able to establish himself as a regular with the Bruins. He has played in just 19 games and is averaging 11:20 minutes per contest. It's starting to look like the former first round pick will never have any meaningful fantasy value in standard leagues, but we wouldn't write him off entirely.

"Two games sitting in the stands I wasn't very happy, but I just need to keep ready for when I'm needed," said Caron. "I know they have confidence in me, and so far I've been playing pretty good. I just need to make plays offensively, and I need to finish off any of my checks." He can play either wing position and does a good job defensively, but he shouldn't be on your fantasy radar.

"We could've had a few goals and I had some chances. Obviously they didn't go in tonight, but I think we did a good job tonight." Caron did not show up to camp early as many expected and he has played poorly in games to date, including Thursday's contest where he took a bad penalty leading to three Detroit goals and was involved in a terrible line change. Caron wasn't available after the lockout ended because of a shoulder injury and when he did get his opportunity, Chris Kelly went down with a broken leg. "I thought he had a real good game today, and so did they," coach Claude Julien said of Caron and his linemates after the contest. "Let's not overlook the fact that Caron didn't make that line all of a sudden be better. All three guys were really good today. I thought Pevs was skating well and was good. Caron's NHL roster spot may have been in doubt anyway because he has struggled in the minors this year with just eight points and a minus-6 rating in 31 matches.
