NewsDarcy Kuemper entered Game 4 in the second period, stopping 15 of 17 shots he faced in Minnesota's 3-0 loss to Chicago.
ImpactThe 23-year-old rookie was forced into playoff action despite appearing in just six regular season games. He was clearly nervous, allowing a goal on the first shot he faced. Kuemper responded well, however, settling down before allowing a weak goal midway through the third which all but sealed the Wild's fate. Nicklas Backstrom was dressed on the bench and served as the emergency goaltender, which may bode well for the Wild for Game 5 assuming he's ready to return. We'll update you on Harding's progress and the goaltending situation as soon as we learn more.

NewsDarcy Kuemper has been summoned from the minors by Minnesota.
ImpactNumber one goalie Niklas Backstrom suffered a lower-body injury during the warmups before Game 1 against Chicago on Tuesday. His status hasn't been determined yet for Game 2, but if he can't play then Kuemper will dress as Josh Harding's backup.

ImpactJosh Harding has completed his AHL conditioning stint, so Kuemper's services were no longer required. That being said, Kuemper made the most of his opportunity by posting a 2.08 GAA and .916 save percentage in six games.

ImpactKuemper was sent down to the minors after being activated from the injured list with a groin injury to get in some playing time. He was 1-2-0 in four NHL games with a 2.22 GAA and a .924 save percentage and was even better in the minors with a 13-7 record to go with a 1.78 GAA and a .937 save percentage. He will back up Niklas Backstrom in the Wild net with Josh Harding still out of action.
