"I'm still pretty young and regardless of who's here, I look forward to becoming an even better player, a more rounded player and a more rounded person. NewsTaylor Hall, Jordan Eberle and Devan Dubnyk have committed to play for Team Canada at the world championship next month.

NewsTaylor Hall was the only Edmonton goal scorer in a 3-1 loss to the Ducks on Sunday.
ImpactA late-season surge by the former number one overall pick has turned what started out as a disappointing season into a very good one, although his ability to remain healthy will remain a question mark until he proves it's a non-issue. Jordan Eberle and Jeff Petry drew assists on Hall's goal.

Taylor Hall could hear from NHL for slash | 04/11/2013 1:54 AM
NewsTaylor Hall lost his temper once again in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes, as the Edmonton Oilers star slashed Zbynek Michalek.
ImpactHall was likely angry after receiving a huge hit from Martin Hanzal earlier in the contest. He's already received a two-game suspension for a questionable check on Cal Clutterbuck, so it's possible that the NHL might drop a substantial punishment on the irritable winger. Losing him for fantasy playoff games would be a serious problem for owners.

Taylor Hall worked on passing in the AHL | 04/08/2013 8:07 AM
NewsJason Gregor of the Edmonton Journal reports that Taylor Hall spent a lot of time working on his passing while playing in the AHL this season.
ImpactThe lockout really helped the Oilers number one pick from the 2010 draft as he was still eligible to play in the minors after spending two seasons in the NHL. Hall is currently fifth in assists in the NHL with 28, trailing only Sidney Crosby, Martin St. Louis, Nicklas Backstrom and Ryan Getzlaf, not a bad bunch to be trailing. Hall is also a sniper when he has the puck and is finally looking like the stud player that was predicted he would be when drafted first overall. He deserves to be a high pick in next season's pools.

ImpactHall missed Sunday's game with the injury but said after Tuesday's morning skate that he feels good. We're not 100 percent sold, so owners will want to check back before the puck drops to make sure Hall can go. Jim Matheson on Twitter
ImpactHey, on the bright side, the former top overall pick gets to avoid any worries about retribution against the Minnesota Wild tonight. In all seriousness, losing Hall's point-per-game production (18 in 18 games) is no laughing matter for fantasy owners in tight weekend matchups. Nail Yakupov will get a shot with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle today.
Taylor Hall will be game time call vs. Wild | 03/03/2013 11:03 AM
NewsTaylor Hall remains questionable to play in Sunday's game against the Wild due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Friday's loss to the Blues.
ImpactThe notion that the Oilers will use Hall's conveniently-timed ailment as an excuse to hold him out of the lineup for the rematch with Minnesota was dismissed by Hall, as he proclaimed his desire to play if he's fit enough to do so, even if it means he'll be a point of focus for his opponents. "I honestly don't know what to expect," Hall said. "I wouldn't say I'd be targetted but I'll be hit a couple of times. That's acceptable. I don't see myself having to fight. I don't like fighting." It should be noted that Hall has only engaged in one career NHL fight, with the Blue Jackets Derek Dorsett, and he sprained his ankle in the process.
Taylor Hall hoping to return to Oilers Sunday | 03/02/2013 11:00 AM
NewsTaylor Hall was pulled from Friday night's 4-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues because of a leg strain but the Edmonton Oilers' star doesn't think the injury is serious and is hoping to play Sunday.
ImpactHall lost his balance and slid into the boards in the second period, felt a strain in his leg and was immediately pulled. "Stretched it out a bit, fell awkwardly and just stretched it," he said. "I tried one more shift and it didn't feel right. When it comes to groins and hamstrings it's better to be safe than sorry." He's hoping to be back for Sunday's game in Minnesota, which is about the only shred of good news that came out of the Oilers' sixth consecutive loss.

NewsTaylor Hall left Friday's game during the second period with "tightness in his leg."
Chris Nichols on Twitter
ImpactOilers coach Ralph Krueger said he was removed as a "safety precaution." Hall was hurt "crashing into the boards," according to the Sporting News' Jesse Spector. He had a goal in 9:21 and is considered day-to-day. This doesn't seem very serious, but it's worth monitoring before the Oilers play on Sunday.
Taylor Hall scores only fourth of season | 03/01/2013 11:36 PM
NewsTaylor Hall potted a goal but the Oilers came up short in their 4-2 loss to the Blues on Friday night.
ImpactWith only four goals and a six percent shooting percentage, Hall hasn't had too much puck luck so far this season, but he still is creating offense, with 14 assists. For any owner who may have soured on Hall because of this low goal output, now is the time to pounce because it's only a matter of time before he gets hot. Ryan Whitney had the other goal in the loss.

Edmonton Oilers on Twitter

NHL suspends Taylor Hall for two games | 02/22/2013 7:33 PM
NewsTaylor Hall has received a two-game suspension for kneeing Minnesota Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck.
ImpactHall will be ineligible to play on Saturday and Monday as a result. Clutterbuck sustained at least a thigh contusion and the full extent of the damage isn't clear. Hall argued that his hit wasn't dirty and that he felt he hit Clutterbuck with his hip rather than his knee. NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan argued that one of the reasons this hit was worthy of a suspension was the fact that Clutterbuck never controlled the puck during the sequence in question.

NewsTaylor Hall doesn't think his hit on the Wild's Cal Clutterbuck was dirty.

Pierre LeBrun on Twitter
ImpactHall absolutely crushed Clutterbuck near center ice during the third period of Thursday night's game and appeared to stick his leg out during the hit. The former No. 1 overall pick received a five-minute major for kneeing on the play while Clutterbuck was eventually placed on a stretcher. We'll have to see what sort of decision Brendan Shanahan makes, but it wouldn't be all that surprising to Hall suspended. Stay tuned.
Hall notches third goal in loss to Stars | 02/13/2013 1:36 AM
NewsTaylor Hall scored Edmonton's lone goal in their 4-1 loss to Dallas on Tuesday evening.
ImpactThe tally was Hall's third of the year. He's struggled to find the back of the net this season, but this fact hasn't killed his production; he still has 12 points in 13 games played. He's generating tons of chances, evident by his nine shots on Stars' goalie Kari Lehtonen. It's only a matter of time before Hall gets his scoring touch back.

Taylor Hall anticipates some fan backlash | 01/09/2013 12:05 PM
NewsTaylor Hall anticipates some fan backlash due to the lockout when the season starts.
Impact"My Twitter feed is blowing up with people who are so happy to have hockey back, and then there are people saying they're not going to support us," said Hall. "I know there's going to be fans mad at us and pissed off, but I hope they come out and support us like they have in the past." That will be the big question. Traditionally, the fans have come back after work stoppages, but the fact that the NHL has had so many in proximity of each other might be particularly harmful. Still, the season was ultimately saved, so they won't have to try to rebound from the stigma of having two canceled seasons within a decade of each other.
