Dale Weise was a healthy scratch Monday.

Dale Weise will play alongside Derek Roy and Jannik Hansen Wednesday night.
He is filling in for Chris Higgins, who is out with a knee injury. "This is a big opportunity for me," Weise said. "Obviously, it sucks to lose a guy like Higgins. He is playing so well and is such a big part of our team, penalty-kill wise and five-on-five. He creates a lot. But I am not going to do anything to change my game on that line. I'll get in there, be physical, get those guys the puck and get to the net and see what happens." He has six points and 43 penalty minutes in 33 games.

Weise was injured Saturday and it was thought to be a lot more serious than it is. Weise will not be in the lineup Tuesday. "We see Dale out of the lineup for the short term," assistant Laurence Gilman said. "At least for the next week." He has two goals and five points and 41 penalty minutes in 31 games this year. Consider him day-to-day.

Weise provided penalty minutes and an occasional point for fantasy fans as he had 41 penalty minutes to go with two goals and five points in 31 games. With only five weeks left in the regular season, Weise may not be able to return.

Weise is nothing but a fourth-liner who racks up a decent amount of penalty minutes but does little else on the score sheet. He scored at 9:14 of the third period. Maxim Lapierre and Dan Hamhuis had the helpers.
