ImpactFamiliar name Martin Gerber helped the Swiss take that win. Normally it's Jonas Hiller making the Swiss a tougher out that expected, but he's going strong in the NHL playoffs this summer.
Jordan Eberle: We talk about losing culture | 04/24/2013 10:44 AM
NewsThe Edmonton Oilers have discussed their losing culture among themselves, forward Jordan Eberle says.
ImpactShould fans be concerned that the elite young talent on Edmonton's roster, most of which came from winning environments - Taylor Hall won back to back Memorial Cups, Eberle was a hero for Team Canada, Sam Gagner went 50-14-4 in his final year with the London Knights - are being ruined by the culture of failure in Edmonton? "We've definitely addressed that in the lockerroom," said Eberle, admitting the last few years have been a shock to their system. "It's something that at the start of the year, and throughout the year, we've talked about. You can't have an 'it's acceptable to lose' mentality. But I don't think anyone in there really has it. As professional athletes, most of us in there are really competitive people. We want to win. I don't think that's really creeping into the room. And I know, as a leader of the team, it never will, we'll never let it. That's when things go south. I can't see it happening, we're just too competitive in here, we want to win."
Eberle picks up three points in Oilers win | 04/20/2013 7:09 AM
NewsJordan Eberle scored his 13th goal of the season and picked up two assists in Edmonton's 4-1 win over Colorado Friday night.
ImpactEberle snapped an ugly six game pointless streak where he went -8 and had 10 PIMs. His follow up to his breakout 76 point season hasn't been rosy this year with just 31 points in 43 games.

Oilers top line ice cold in last five games | 04/15/2013 9:39 AM
NewsThe Edmonton Oilers top line of Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins have not had a point in their last five games.
ImpactIt is a bad time to go into a slump and with the Oilers now eight points out of a playoff spot and in 12th place, it looks like Edmonton will get another lottery pick in the Draft this season. Eberle is really struggling this season (as is Nugent-Hopkins) with only 12 goals and 28 points in 41 games after a 76 point performance that was good for 15th in the NHL last season, rather than being stuck in 65th this season.
Eberle finds the back of the net Thursday | 03/29/2013 9:03 AM
NewsJordan Eberle scored a goal in Edmonton's 6-4 win Thursday.
ImpactEberle has 10 goals and 24 points in 33 games this season. It's a step down from he's nearly point-per-game pace last season, but we wouldn't be surprised if he puts up his best numbers in April as he tries to make the playoffs for the first time in his career.
Oilers ride top line in win over St. Louis | 03/26/2013 11:30 PM
NewsJordan Eberle produced two goals and an assist in Edmonton's 3-0 win over St. Louis Tuesday night.

Jordan Eberle's point streak ends | 03/08/2013 10:26 AM
NewsJordan Eberle's four-game point streak ended on Thursday.
ImpactEberle and the Oilers were outclassed by the Detroit Red Wings in a 3-0 defeat on Thursday. Putting that aside, Eberle is having a pretty strong season after his breakout performance in 2011-12. He has 17 points in 23 games and if anything, we think he'll do slightly better in the season half of the season.

Jordan Eberle has five points in 11 games | 02/23/2013 11:28 AM
NewsJordan Eberle has just two goals and five points in his last 11 games.
ImpactEberle kicked off the season with a hot streak, but has slowed down significantly. He should bounce back and end up with close to a point-per-game in 2013.
Eberle leads way for Oilers | 02/17/2013 8:32 AM
NewsJordan Eberle found the net twice and added an assist in Edmonton's 6-4 win over Colorado on Saturday night.
ImpactEberle is playing at a similar pace to his breakout 2011-12 campaign with five goals, seven assists and 12 points in 14 games.
Jordan Eberle now scoreless in 6 games | 02/10/2013 10:50 AM
NewsThe Oilers Jordan Eberle is suffering through a mini-slump, as he has not scored in six contests.
ImpactEberle was absolutely dominant with the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL during the lockout and he was on fire for Edmonton out of the gate so this appears to be a minor bump in the road. His role obviously hasn't changed and he has registered 34 shots on goal, meaning the scoring chances continue to arrive. There's probably nothing to worry about here.

Oilers ready to bring back winning attitude | 01/20/2013 1:43 PM
NewsThe Oilers are focused on bringing back the winning attitude from years past.
ImpactEdmonton has not made it to the playoffs since 2006 and has not finished higher than fourth since then, either. "This organization has a legacy of winning which got drowned out in the past few seasons," Jordan Eberle said. "Obviously the big thing we want to get back is that winning attitude that was here in the `80s. I think it starts with a real intense desire not to lose two in a row. A real focus on that. Good teams seldom lose two in a row." The Oilers certainly have enough high-end offensive talent, but the question remains whether they'll be able to keep the puck out of their own net enough.
Oilers name J. Eberle an alternate captain | 01/16/2013 10:39 AM
NewsJordan Eberle has been selected as an alternate captain.
Impact"You look around the room and we've got a lot of leaders in here. There are a lot of options," Eberle said. "So, obviously, it's an honor to be named an (alternate) captain. At the same time, I think the only way we're going to succeed is if everyone takes over a role and everyone's a leader in here. That's going to be important" Eberle served as an assistant captain with the AHL Oklahoma City Barons during the lockout. He's entering his third NHL campaign.
Edmonton Oilers practice outdoors on Sunday | 01/14/2013 9:51 AM
NewsThe Edmonton Oilers started training camp on Sunday by practicing outdoors.
ImpactThe fans were there to greet the Oilers despite temperatures only managing to hit a high of minus 14 degrees C (7 degrees F). It was a surprise for the Oiler players who thought they would be practicing indoors and not playing shinny outdoors. "It was out of nowhere for everybody," Eberle said. Eberle said that the fans were great and so was the turnout. Hockey is back in Edmonton.
AHL will need time to top Eberle, Schultz | 01/06/2013 7:58 PM
NewsJordan Eberle and Justin Schultz built up quite the gap between themselves and the rest of the AHL's leading scorers.
ImpactIt'll take someone quite a while to catch those two - even if Schultz sticks with the Edmonton Oilers like Eberle will. Eberle scored 51 points in 34 games played while Schultz is just a step behind with 48 in the same span. Cam Atkinson is the closest player behind them with 38 in 33 contests - and he probably won't stay in the AHL, either.

ImpactHe captured the distinction in November and won it again in December. Eberle led all AHL skaters in scoring with 11 goals and nine assists in 11 games last month. His repeat performance was aided by two hat tricks and six multiple-point matches. Eberle currently leads the league with 24 goals and 49 points after 32 outings.
Eberle extends AHL scoring lead | 01/01/2013 11:09 PM

Jordan Eberle has natural hat trick | 01/01/2013 8:05 AM
NewsJordan Eberle had the natural hat trick in Oklahoma City's 5-2 win over Texas Monday.

Eberle leads the league with 47 points, two ahead of teammate Justin Schultz who had a goal and an assist in the win, and 12 ahead of Cam Atkinson who sits third in the points race. Josh Green also scored while Yann Denis was great between the pipes for the Barons as Oklahoma City was outshot 44-27.
