|Assets:||Has great size and pretty good playmaking instincts. Can mix it up in front of the net, where he does his best work--especially on the power play. Can line up at either wing position.|
|Flaws:||Still needs to work on his play in the defensive zone and, without the puck in general, in order to maximize his potential at the highest level. Is only an average skater.|
|Career Potential:||Big complementary winger with some upside.|

Eric Tangradi moves up depth chart, scores | 03/21/2014 7:28 AM
NewsEric Tangradi skated alongside Olli Jokinen and Blake Wheeler in Wednesday's overtime win over Colorado.
ImpactHe received the promotion because of Dustin Byfuglien's injury and took advantage of the situation by scoring his second goal of the season. "It was definitely a big exhale, that's for sure," Tangradi said. "There's been a lot of ups-and-downs for me this season. I tried to stay positive through them all and when you get an opportunity like (Wednesday), you try to take advantage of it." He has five points in 44 games this campaign.
Eric Tangradi continues to sit in press box | 12/24/2013 5:29 AM
NewsEric Tangradi has been scratch for seven of Winnipeg's last 11 games.
ImpactThis is just an FYI as Tangradi shouldn't be on your fantasy radar. He has one goal and two assists in 28 games this campaign, while averaging just 9:19 of ice time per contest.
Eric Tangradi moves up to third line | 10/04/2013 9:41 AM
NewsEric Tangradi skated on the third line with Olli Jokinen and Michael Frolik on Thursday.
Winnipeg Free Press
ImpactHe took the spot of James Wright, who was bumped to the team's fourth line during the session. Tangradi picked up an assist in Winnipeg's opener Tuesday on Frolik's game-winning goal.
Eric Tangradi pumped to play Saturday night | 09/14/2013 1:39 PM
NewsEric Tangradi is excited to play in Saturday's preseason contest in Belleville Saturday night because he played in the OHL with the Bulls for three seasons.
Winnipeg Free Press
Impact"The pre-game skate was an opportunity to take it all back in," he said before switching his focus back to trying to earn his roster spot. "But there's a lot of guys on this team that are trying to fight for a job and there's a couple spots up for grabs. When we leave the rink now there's a lot of guys who are really dialed in and focused on just playing a good game and, of course, we're here to try and win." Saturday's Kraft Hockeyville contest will see the Jets "host" the Washington Capitals.
Eric Tangradi agrees to a two-year contract | 07/16/2013 2:24 PM
NewsEric Tangradi has agreed to a two-year/$1.35 million contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

ImpactTangradi's deal is one-way, so he should make the Jets' opening game roster. He had a goal and four points in 41 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Winnipeg Jets last season. He'll earn $650k next season and $700k in 2014-15.
Pens get slightly better pick fromTangradi | 06/26/2013 11:06 AM
NewsEric Tangradi met a games-played condition following his trade to Winnipeg, so the Pittsburgh Penguins will get a sixth-round choice instead of a seventh-round pick.
ImpactHe skated in 36 games with the Jets after he was acquired from the Penguins. Tangradi recorded a goal and three assists over that span. Pittsburgh now owns the No. 164 overall pick in the 2013 draft.
Eric Tangradi finally picks up a goal | 03/08/2013 12:08 PM
NewsEric Tangradi's goal may have bought himself a little more time on the Jets' roster.
Winnipeg Free Press
ImpactHe had played in all 16 games since being acquired from the Penguins, but he had no points to show for it. He scored in the first period on Thursday, in 4:48. "That felt great. I've been trying to contribute and I think I have with my size, but scoring is something I have to do as well," said Tangradi. "Hopefully this will give me more opportunity and I can build on this."
Tangradi admits it's weird to play old team | 02/15/2013 7:32 PM
NewsEric Tangradi admits it's weird to make his Winnipeg Jets debut against his old team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
ImpactTangradi was traded to Winnipeg on Wednesday. "It's kind of like seeing your ex-girlfriend at the bar the next night," Tangradi joked. "It's a little bit different feeling. But I've got a mindset: No friends tonight. I've got new teammates on my side. I'm just going to try to play my game and be physical." If anything, getting to play against his former teammates so soon after being traded should provide Tangradi with extra motivation.
Jets hope Eric Tangradi 'blossoms' with them | 02/14/2013 9:28 AM
NewsWinnipeg brought in Eric Tangradi and dealt out Alexei Ponikarovsky in two separate moves Wednesday.
Winnipeg Free Press
Impact"(Tangradi) is 24 years old and we're very hopeful that he's someone that, given an opportunity to play in our organization, is going to blossom," said GM Kevin Cheveldayoff. "It was really more about creating an opening and opportunity for Eric as opposed to anything with Alexei." Tangradi will probably slot into the club's third line, where he'll try to gain some traction at the NHL level following an unproductive stint in Pittsburgh.
Penguins deal Eric Tangradi to Winnipeg | 02/13/2013 6:55 PM
NewsThe Winnipeg Jets have acquired Eric Tangradi from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2013 seventh-round draft pick.
ImpactHe couldn't muster a point in five games this season despite starting the year on a line with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal. He had been relegated to the press box prior to the trade. In 45 career NHL appearances, Tangradi has notched just one goal and four assists. Perhaps a fresh start will do him some good, but for now he's not worth owning in fantasy hockey.
Eric Tangradi could be odd man out with Pens | 02/01/2013 12:17 PM
NewsEric Tangradi could be the odd man out in Pittsburgh after the Penguins claimed winger Zach Boychuk off waivers Thursday.
ImpactBoychuk is expected to skate alongside Evgeni Malkin and James Neal, which is the spot that Tangradi had occupied. The winger didn't receive a glowing endorsement from GM Ray Shero, either. "We'll see how the game goes," Shero said before Thursday's game against the Rangers. If you took a flier on Tangradi at some point, it's time to move on.
Eric Tangradi sent down to fourth line | 01/25/2013 9:38 AM
NewsEric Tangradi couldn't get anything going alongside Evgeni Malkin and James Neal, so he has been demoted to the fourth line.
ImpactDespite seeing time with dynamic duo, Tangradi played very limited minutes in Pittsburgh's last two games. He saw 9:32 of ice time against New York last Sunday and logged just 4:27 versus Toronto on Tuesday. "I'm not frustrated, really. If I get back to playing my game and playing the right way, (playing with Malkin) might be an opportunity that arises in the future," he said. "I need to be better. I know that." Tangradi doesn't have any points after three games this season and he has just two shots on goal. If you took a flyer on him then it's time to cut bait.
Eric Tangradi will skate with Malkin and Neal | 01/14/2013 2:34 PM
NewsEric Tangradi is slated to skate with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal on Monday.
ImpactDuring Sunday's session he practiced with Dustin Jeffrey and Neal, but Malkin is expected to take that spot when he arrives. "Eric Tangradi will be on the left, and James Neal will be on the right on (Monday)," coach Dan Bylsma said. Tangradi has only one goal and four assists in 40 career NHL contests, but he has never had the opportunity to play with Malkin or Sidney Crosby. Starting the year with Malkin and Neal as his linemates would obviously give his fantasy value a huge boost. However, that left wing spot is expected to be open and situational this year so it's unclear if Tangradi will hold onto the position.
