NewsMatt Frattin was once viewed as a lock to be a part of Toronto's roster for this season, but now he is on the bubble to make the club with the 2013 campaign about to start.
ImpactCoach Randy Carlyle said that Frattin has had his ups and downs at camp, which doesn't make his spot secure heading into the team's final cuts. "I know he has had an issue as far as coming back from an injury, and he came back to the American league with a bang," said Carlyle. "But I would think that the last couple of weeks in the American Hockey League haven't been goal producing, or the point production that he would like or we would expect. He wasn't able to maintain that pace. So that's where he is right now, it looks like he's in a little bit of a flat period." That flatness could result in him heading back to the minors to get his confidence back up. If he stays then he might be primed for fourth-line work.
