Tom Poti won't be back with the Washington Capitals next season, but he wants to continue playing in the NHL.
The pending unrestricted free agent said, "It's time to move on." Poti has struggled with injury for the past couple of seasons, appearing in just 37 games over that time. It may be tough for him to find interested suitors at the age of 36.

Poti was finally able to return to the NHL after missinf two seasons with groin problems and a fractured pelvis. "I still wanted to play," Poti said. "I still had the passion inside me. Hockey's still fun for me to this day and I wanted to do everything I could to get back." Unfortunately he's sidelined again, this time with a back injury. He has two assists and 16 games this season.

He said he is feeling much better but as Katie Carrera of the Washington Post points out, he may not draw back into the lineup even when he gets back to full health because the team has been playing so well of late. Poti has missed the last 12 games with a back injury.
