Andrej Sekera gets two assists Tuesday | 12/11/2013 9:50 AM
NewsAndrej Sekera recorded two assists in Carolina's 5-4 overtime loss to Edmonton.
Raleigh News & Observer
ImpactSekera has six goals and 18 points in 30 games this season. That puts him on pace to shatter his previous career-high of 29 points. We don't expect him to maintain his current pace, but he should surpass the 30-point mark for the first time in his career.
Sekera continues hot streak in CAR | 12/06/2013 6:21 PM
NewsWith seven points along with 13 shots on goal during his last six outings, Andrej Sekera has really developed into a productive fantasy own during the last couple of weeks.
ImpactWe mentioned Sekera a couple of weeks ago as a possible "sleeper" candidate, and it seems to be coming into fruition at the moment. One of the big reasons for Sekera's production is the responsibility that he's garnering in Carolina. During this six-game span, he's appearing in 62.2 percent of the Canes' power play opportunities, which is comparable to other "big named" blue-liners like Kris Letang, John Carlson, Niklas Kronvall, Dustin Byfuglien, Duncan Keith and Dan Boyle. It would certainly be tough to argue that he's at the same skill level as those players, but he's certainly getting a similar opportunity as them. It also showcases why it's not entirely surprising to see him post similar numbers. If you are desperately looking for help on the blue-line then Sekera is definitely a worthwhile option.

Carolina's offense has woken up as of late while posting 13 goals during the last four contests.
