Peter Regin returned to Ottawa's lineup Monday night from a chest injury.
He doesn't have a goal in 13 games this season, but tallied the game-winning marker in the fifth round of the shootout to give the Senators a 2-1 win over Montreal. Regin has 22 shots and two assists on the year.

Peter Regin was activated from the IL on Monday February 25.

It will be the fourth straight contest Regin has missed due to the ailment. He's still a possibility for Tuesday's game.

While some expect Peter Regin to return on Monday, it sounds like the Ottawa Senators will make that decision tomorrow.
Perhaps it will come during the morning skate or maybe even right before the game. The Sens are obviously hurting for offense, but they still need to be careful not to aggravate his upper-body injury. Daniel Alfredsson and Sergei Gonchar skipped recent practices but are expected to play.

He had almost no fantasy value except in the deepest of leagues before being hurt. Jim O'Brien will replace him in the lineup Tuesday night.

Regin has four penalty minutes in nine games this season. He doesn't have much offensive upside and won't spend enough time in the sin bin to make it worth picking him up in anything but the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Peter Regin feels ready to rebound from two left shoulder surgeries in the past two seasons.
"I'm past that, I have no pain, I have the same strength," Regin said. "I've been skating for five months. Playing in Switzerland gave me some confidence that I know I can play. Even though it's a different style of hockey on the big rinks, you still bump into each other. I knew I could handle that, from taking the bumps and hits over there." He played just 10 games last season. At training camp he has been skating on the third line with Zack Smith and Chris Neil.
