"I think he's provided us with a burst of speed, some good defensive play. They've had some tough assignments on a nightly basis," McLellan said. "He's shot the puck a lot, and got it back. CSN Bay Area

Obviously you don't see anyone else going through the things that you are," Kennedy said. "But, the guys have been very good to me and it's been very welcoming. It's exciting. Kennedy likely to be 3rd liner in SJ | 07/01/2013 1:03 PM
NewsTyler Kennedy will likely be a third-line player in San Jose.
ImpactThat shouldn't be a surprise given the Sharks current top six of Joe Thornton, Logan Couture, Joe Pavelski, Patrick Marleau, Martin Havlat and possibly Brent Burns. Although Kennedy scored 20 goals a few seasons ago, that was riding shotgun to Sidney Crosby. He won't get kind of opporunity with the Sharks. Kennedy's top end is 30 points in 2013-14.

NewsTyler Kennedy will audition on Pittsburgh's 'top line' with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal.
ImpactCoach Dan Bylsma said that Tanner Glass, Matt Cooke and possibly Brandon Sutter would get the opportunity to play with Malkin and Neal as well. Kennedy may have the best shot at sticking on the line because he has more offensive skill than Glass and Cookie and it would allow Sutter to center the third line for depth purposes. Bylsma cautioned that the spot next to Malkin and Neal will be "open and situational," but "it's going to open to somebody claiming [it] and making it permanent, too."
