ImpactRyan Wilson (knee) is close to being able to return to the Avalanche lineup, but the team needed to make a move in preparation for activating him off of the injured reserve list. It looks like Hunwick is the odd man out. He comes with a $1.6 million annual cap hit in 2013-14 before becoming an unrestricted free agent.

ImpactHunwick has six assists and 14 penalty minutes in 42 games this season. This will be his first time participating in the adult tournament, but he did represent Team USA in the IIHF World Junior Championships before establishing himself in the NHL.
