ImpactHe had a minus-17 rating, which was the worst on the team, in his first season with the Avalanche in 2011-12 and now he leads the club and stands third in the league with a plus-16 rating. "Confidence is a huge part of winning and we all have confidence right now," Hejda said. "Goalies, defensemen and forwards - everybody can see it." He also has five points, 42 hits and 33 blocked shots in 16 games.

ImpactIt happened in the game against Edmonton and the Avs are on a four game losing streak starting with that game. "Everything starts with that loss to Edmonton. We lost confidence. Everybody is trying (not) to make a mistake," Hejda said. "D-zone coverage, we have no rhythm right now ... Four games in a row we've allowed four, five, six goals against. Not acceptable. I don't know. We have to simplify it, probably."

ImpactHejda also played a team-high 24:51 minutes of ice-time and had four shots on goal in the contest. However, he has just five points in 17 games and has never been much of a threat offensively. Until he receives powerplay minutes, Hejda shouldn't even be considered as a potential waiver wire acquisition.
