ImpactPatrick Sharp got one of the assists on Brookbank's goal. It was Sharp's 42nd assist of the season. Clearly, however, the loss of the Hawks' captain, Jonathan Toews, overshadowed their loss of the game. The defending Stanley Cup champions lost Toews to an upper-body injury in the second period. Toews, with his head down, was driven hard into the boards by Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik while attempting to collect the puck 13:20 into the second. And all the other D men will have to step up a little more," Hjalmarsson said, again, prior to the suspension announcement. "We'll see what happens. We have a good enough D core to play." Brookbank won't be able to fill the void left by Keith and he might be rusty given that he hasn't played since April 27. Still, he is a veteran capable of holding his own against the Los Angeles Kings.
