Sheldon Brookbank made his 2013 playoff debut on Thursday.
Brookbank was inserted into the lineup because of Duncan Keith's one-game suspension. Unfortunately, things didn't go well for him. Brookbank ended up logging just 6:50 minutes and had a minus-two rating. With Keith eligible to return for Game 5, Brookbank is likely to return to the press box.

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville told Sheldon Brookbank to be prepared just in case he got an opportunity to play and that time will come in Game 4 Thursday night.
"I had to tell [Brookbank] a couple times, be patient, you're going to get an opportunity, could be most critical time in the playoffs," said the Chicago bench boss. Brookbank will dress in Game 4 because of Duncan Keith's one-game suspension. It will be his first game action since April 27, so we don't expect him to get much ice time, but for what it's worth Quenneville has liked what he's seen from Brookbank during practices.

Brookbank is projected to play for the first time in the 2013 postseason because Duncan Keith will be serving a one-game suspension. "That's been our strength all season, the depth on the blue line. If something happens, Brookbank will come in and play well. And all the other D men will have to step up a little more," Hjalmarsson said, again, prior to the suspension announcement. "We'll see what happens. We have a good enough D core to play." Brookbank won't be able to fill the void left by Keith and he might be rusty given that he hasn't played since April 27. Still, he is a veteran capable of holding his own against the Los Angeles Kings.
