Blackhawks excel at Joe Louis Arena | 05/20/2013 7:01 AM
NewsThe Chicago Blackhawks head onto the road and into Joe Louis Arena for Game 3 Monday where they are 7-0-1 in the last three seasons.
ImpactThis record has occurred in the regular season and the Blackhawks have played well again this season on the road as they outscored Detroit 9-2 in winning both games in the Motor City. "We''ve played in that building a lot but everything that happened in the past is in the past," Duncan Keith said. "We're worried about the big game tomorrow. It's going to be tough, whether it's in Joe Louis, the United Center, or wherever. We know it's going to be tough."
Duncan Keith misses practice, will still play | 05/17/2013 2:54 PM
NewsDuncan Keith missed Friday's practice, but is still expected to play on Saturday.
ImpactThis might be a sign that Keith is playing through an injury, but he's been averaging 23:31 minutes per game in the postseason. With that in mind, it wouldn't be the least bit surprising if the Blackhawks simply felt that he would benefit more from a day off than another practice.
Duncan Keith plays well with Hjalmarsson | 05/12/2013 7:36 AM
NewsDuncan Keith has played well alongside Niklas Hjalmarsson since the duo were paired up over a month ago.
ImpactKeith had played with Brent Seabrook for most of the last nine seasons but coach Joel Quenneville wanted to change the pairings so Seabrook got a new partner in Nick Leddy while Keith and Hjalmarsson were matched up. "I played with 'Hammer' one time," Keith said Saturday. "We were joking around about that. I think it was one game in San Jose, so that's once out of (all or parts of) six seasons, but we played good together that game. For me it's easy to play with him. He chips the puck out, gets it in, it's real simple. I think the fact he likes to stay home allows me the confidence to get up in the play, knowing he's gonna be back. It's not that hard. You just read off of each other. Defense is one position where it's all about positioning."
Duncan Keith plays big minutes on no sleep | 05/08/2013 9:10 AM
NewsDuncan Keith logged 23:57 minutes on Tuesday despite a severe lack of sleep.
ImpactKeith went to Chicago for the birth of his son and then flew back to Minnesota for Game 4 on Tuesday. He said after Chicago's 3-0 victory that he hadn't gotten any sleep since Monday morning. "I might sleep until the next game," he remarked. He finished the game with a plus-two rating, two shots on goal, and two blocked shots.
Duncan Keith will be back in time for Game 4 | 05/07/2013 2:05 PM
NewsDuncan Keith will be back in time for Game 4 after his wife gave birth to a baby boy Tuesday.

ImpactKeith's absence would've been a huge hit to Chicago and we imagine goalie Corey Crawford is quite happy hearing that the Blackhawks' top blueliner will be in the lineup Tuesday night. Keith has one goal, three points and a plus-2 rating in three games so far this postseason.
Defense powers Chicago's scoring in defeat | 05/05/2013 6:49 PM
NewsBoth of the Chicago Blackhawks' goals came from defensemen in their Game 3 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
ImpactJohnny Oduya and Duncan Keith found the net, with Keith's tally sending the game into overtime. It wasn't enough, however, as the Wild ended up reducing the Blackhawks' series lead to 2-1.
Hawks can still do better, Duncan Keith says | 05/04/2013 10:01 AM
NewsThe Chicago Blackhawks looked strong in defeating the Minnesota Wild 5-2 Friday night and taking a 2-0 lead in their opening-round playoff series.
ImpactYet Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith isn't satisfied. "I don't think we ever go through a whole game where we do everything we want to do," Keith said. "I think we were better (Friday) than last game, but I still think that we can be better overall."
Duncan Keith, reporter have heated exchange | 04/24/2013 9:50 AM
NewsBlackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith got into a testy exchange with a female Vancouver radio reporter after Monday's loss to the Canucks.
ImpactKaren Thomson thought Keith should have been penalized for a two-handed stick swipe he took as Daniel Sedin finished his breakaway in the second period for the Canucks' third goal. The exchange has sparked a lot of discussion in Vancouver this week. Keith suggested Thomson didn't know hockey but was acting like she did before brushing her off with a "See ya" comment. Truth is, it does look like the referee missed the stick swipe.
Keith leads Hawks to 4-4 OT win over Preds | 04/20/2013 12:33 AM
NewsDuncan Keith scored a goal and added to assists to lead the Blackhawks to a 5-4 overtime win over Nashville in NHL action Friday night.
ImpactPatrick Kane scored a goal and registered an assist in the victory, while Jonathan Toews registered two assists. Marian Hossa, Michal Handzus and Brandon Saad scored Chicago's other goals.
Blackhawks switch up defensive pairings | 04/01/2013 6:51 AM
NewsThe Chicago Blackhawks have switched up their defensive pairings.
ImpactThe moves paid off as the Blackhawks defeated Detroit 7-1 Sunday. Duncan Keith was paired with Niklas Hjalmarsson while Brent Seabrook played alongside Nick Leddy and Johnny Oduya and Michal Rozsival made up the third unit. Keith leads the Chicago blueline with 21 points with 19 of his points assists. He should be active in all fantasy pools that use defensemen.
Duncan Keith scores PP marker in win | 01/28/2013 12:00 AM
NewsDuncan Keith scored his first goal of the campaign in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Red Wings Sunday.
ImpactThe blueliner's goal came on an early man-advantage and was assisted by Brent Seabrook and Marian Hossa. The game was tied 1-1 until Nick Leddy's overtime marker ended it. Jonathan Toews and Viktor Stalberg drew assists on the game-winner.
Keith hopes to get in lots of pre-camp skates | 01/09/2013 11:23 AM
NewsDuncan Keith thinks it's important for the Blackhawks to run as many skates as possible before the lockout officially ends and training camp begins.
Impact"The one thing that sticks out in my mind about having success in a 48-game season is getting off to a good start," Keith said. "That goes back to making sure we're ready to play that first game. That's going to start in practice and training camp right away. It's looking for perfection at practice and bringing it over to a game." Chicago got off to a great start last season, but they also suffered a prolonged losing streak. Consistency will be important in the shortened season and that's one aspect they'll have to focus on as the campaign progresses.
