Paille nets GWG on shorthanded breakaway | 11/20/2013 6:38 AM
NewsDaniel Paille made the most of his limited ice time Tuesday night by scoring the game-winning goal for Boston in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers.
ImpactPaille finished the contest with just 9:41 of ice time and his shorthanded marker in the second period was his only credited shot. "I feel like I could play a little bit more, but I learned a long time ago to accept my role," said Paille. "Hopefully sometime in the future, the opportunity may come when I can step up in my role. But a game like this, I'm more than proud to do it this way." He has four points in 21 games this season.
Daniel Paille snaps drought with a goal v. TB | 11/12/2013 6:25 AM
NewsDaniel Paille netted his second goal of the season in Monday's win over Boston.
ImpactHe scored 20 seconds after Patrice Bergeron gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead against Tampa Bay. Paille ended a nine-game scoring drought with his third point of the year.
Daniel Paille gets his first goal of the year | 10/18/2013 6:09 AM
NewsDaniel Paille opened the scoring Thursday night with his first marker of the year.
ImpactHe gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead early in the match in what would eventually become a 3-2 victory. Paille is a fourth-line grinder who shouldn't be on your fantasy radar.
Daniel Paille still on fourth line in camp | 09/14/2013 6:45 AM
NewsDanile Paille has a chance to move up to the third line but the Boston Bruins are still using him on the fourth unit early in training camp.
CSN New England
ImpactPaille played alongside Shawn Thornton and Greg Campbell in what was the top fourth line in the NHL the past couple of seasons and coach Claude Julien could be hesitant to break up the line. "They actually did look pretty good," Julien said. "They've been together for so long. I know the question is probably a reflection on whether Dan Paille could be moved up. I haven't written that option off. There's no doubt it would affect our other line, our fourth line. As you saw last year when we lost Gregory Campbell, it wasn't the same. So we have to balance out what it is going to mean. At the end of the day, Dan's going to want to help us the best way he can." It appears the best way for Paille to help is to remain on the fourth line. The good news for Paille owners is that the Bruins tend to play Paille as much as a third liner. That being said, do not expect more than 20-25 points from him this season.
Daniel Paille would love a third-line spot | 08/13/2013 10:20 AM
NewsDaniel Paille may have a chance to move up to the third line this season.
ImpactHe has been a fixture on Bruins' fourth line over the past few years, but he played well for the team during the playoffs when he was given a chance to skate with Chris Kelly and ex-Boston winger Tyler Seguin. "I want to continue the trend that I had last year and build off that," Paille said. "If an opportunity comes up where I'm able to take advantage of the situation where I could play on that third-line spot, I definitely will. I'm not quite sure what the circumstances will be at this point. I'm not going to go in there with too many expectations. I'm going to go into training camp and see what the position will be. I definitely have no problem with Thorty (Thornton) and Soupy (Campbell) because we've done very well in the past."
Daniel Paille aims for consistency next year | 06/28/2013 8:37 AM
NewsDaniel Paille wants to be a more consistent player next season after his strong playoff campaign.
ImpactPaille had four goals and nine points, including three game-winning goals, in 22 playoff contests and really stepped up after Gregory Campbell went down with a broken leg. Paille says he wants to become more consistent and prove he can be more than a grinder. While he might end up in a bigger role in Boston depending on free agency, the former first-round pick is unlikely to have much fantasy value in most formats.
Daniel Paille makes the most of promotion | 06/19/2013 9:49 AM
NewsDaniel Paille has scored the game-winning goal in the past two games of the Stanley Cup Finals.
ImpactHe potted the winner in overtime in Game 2 and registered the first marker of the contest in Game 3's 2-0 shutout victory. Paille has been chipping in more offensively, with three points in his past two contests, since being moved up to Boston's third line with Chris Kelly and Tyler Seguin. Gregory Campbell's injury played a role in his promotion as well because if Campbell wasn't hurt in the Eastern Conference Finals then Paille would probably still be with him and Shawn Thornton on the fourth line. Paille has come through with some much-needed secondary offense in the series and has eight points in 19 playoff games.
Daniel Paille helps Bruins set pace in Game 3 | 06/17/2013 11:06 PM
NewsDaniel Paille scored the first goal of the Boston Bruins' eventual 2-0 Game 3 win Monday night.
ImpactPaille's speed and strong forecheck helped Boston set the tone from the very beginning. Right before he scored, the Bruins were swarming the Blackhawks in their zone, with Paille, Tyler Seguin and Chris Kelly ripping shots at Corey Crawford. The trio combined for a goal and two assists on the night and might have been Boston's best line in Game 3.
Bruins new line counts both goals vs. Hawks | 06/16/2013 9:50 AM
NewsDaniel Paille's overtime winner in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Finals was the second marker of the game for the Bruins' newly-formed third line.
ImpactBruins coach Claude Julien put together the trio of Paille, Tyler Seguin and Chris Kelly prior to Game Two and the unit was responsible for both Boston goals in the 2-1 win. "It was just a hunch from a coach," Julien said. The season-ending injury to Gregory Campbell has forced the Bruins to make some changes to the alignment of their bottom six forwards, but for at least one game, the team was able to meet the challenge.
Daniel Paille snipes OT game-winner vs. Hawks | 06/15/2013 11:39 PM
NewsDaniel Paille sniped the game-winning goal in overtime for the Bruins in their 2-1 victory over the Blackhawks on Saturday night.
ImpactAnd with that, the Stanley Cup Final is even at one game apiece. The Blackhawks owned the first period, but managed only one goal and Boston was able to find its stride as the game went along. Coach Claude Julien formed a Paille-Chris Kelly-Tyler Seguin line after the first period and it proved to be a big adjustment, as Chris Kelly also potted the team's first goal of the game in the second period. In addition to his second game-winner of the playoffs, Paille also had an assist on that goal. Adam McQuaid and Tyler Seguin picked up the assists on Paille's goal. Milan Lucic had 10 hits and Dennis Seidenberg had five blocked shots. This has the makings of a series that will easily go to seven games.

The Bruins' fourth line wanted to contribute more offensively and they were the driving force behind Tuesday's victory. Shawn Thornton picked up two assists in the contest and Gregory Campbell had a helper of his own. Milan Lucic recorded five hits and Matt Bartkowski led the team with six. Boston now owns a commanding 3-0 series lead versus the Rangers.

Daniel Paille gets first goal of '13 playoffs | 05/07/2013 9:06 AM
NewsDaniel Paille scored his first goal of the playoffs Monday night.
ImpactIt was the team's fourth of the game and third of the second period, and it came shorthanded. Paille is both a solid penalty killer and bottom-six role player. These are the types of players that make a big difference in the playoffs, so it's obviously nice to see from Boston's standpoint that he was rewarded with a goal.
Daniel Paille says Dion Phaneuf hit his head | 05/05/2013 2:05 PM
NewsDaniel Paille is feeding the argument among Boston Bruins advocates that Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf set a questionable hit.
ImpactPaille told CSNNE.com: "I haven't seen the video, but I know my head got hit. I'm not sure if it was shoulder or arm, or anything." The Bruins are comparing that check to the one that earned a suspension for teammate Andrew Ference, but to no avail.

NewsDaniel Paille got a goal but the Bruins fell to the Canadiens on Saturday night 2-1.
ImpactPaille is nothing more than a checking-line forward with no appeal in fantasy leagues. Johnny Boychuk had the assist; it was his shot that deflected off Paille's chest and into the net.
Daniel Paille may see third-line action again | 02/21/2013 10:51 AM
NewsDaniel Paille is expected to start Thursday's game on the fourth line.
ImpactHowever, later in the contest don't be surprised if he ends up on the third line alongside Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley. He moved up there in a game last Sunday and has played well with them before. "Especially late in the game, if you have the lead or something, it gives you a pretty good defensive player who's done that job for a long time," coach Claude Julien said of Paille.
Daniel Paille promotion pays off | 02/18/2013 9:42 AM
NewsDaniel Paille was moved up to the third line prior to Sunday's game and it paid off in a big way.
ImpactWith Milan Lucic out, Bruins coach Claude Julien had some line juggling to do. In a season-high 17:09 Paille would wind up with the game-tying, 2-2 goal at the end of the second period, as Boston went on to win 3-2. "That was huge," said Tyler Seguin. "Going into a period, you want to have momentum from the end of the period. That was a tough goal by them. Then a quick turnaround gave us the momentum going into intermission."

ImpactPaille stayed behind while the rest of the team traveled to Toronto. He got struck by a high stick during Thursday's game. Although it was initially thought that Paille had an eye injury, the Bruins are hesitant to classify it at this time. "We're going to deem it an upper-body injury, only for the reason that right now, we don't have all the details," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "We know he got the high stick, right? Once we get more clarification on his injury, we'll let you know." It's worth noting that Paille has dealt with concussion problems in the past.
