ImpactParenteau has managed to live up to his lucrative free agent contract despite the team's struggles, notching 27 points in 26 contests with the Avs. Gabriel Landeskog also tallied for the third time this year in the losing effort.
P.A. Parenteau keeps producing | 03/03/2013 7:18 PM
NewsAlong with Matt Duchene, P.A. Parenteau might be the most pleasant surprise of the Colorado Avalanche's tough 2013 season.
ImpactMany wondered if he'd convert his breakout work with the New York Islanders to a new team. He might even be a better fit in Colorado, with nine goals and 18 points in 20 games. Parenteau scored the Avalanche's only tally in a 2-1 OT loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.

NewsP.A. Parenteau potted a goal in Colorado's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks on Sunday night.
ImpactParenteau is proving that he's not just a byproduct of playing with John Tavares, just that he's late bloomer who is really coming into his own in his later 20s. The winger has eight goals and 15 points on the season. Cody McLeod and John Mitchell notched the other goals, while Ryan O'Byrne chipped in with two helpers.
P.A. Parenteau continues hot streak with Avs | 02/05/2013 12:57 AM
NewsP.A. Parenteau scored his seventh goal of the season in the Avalanche's 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars in Colorado Monday night.
ImpactParenteau has been hot. He scored his fifth and six goals of the season last Thursday night in Calgary. Paul Stastny picked up two points for the Avs with his second and third assists. Milan Hejduk also scored for Colorado. It was Hejduk's first goal of the season.

NewsP.A. Parenteau scored his fifth and sixth goals of the young season to help the Colorado Avalanche beat the Flames 6-3 in Calgary Thursday night.
ImpactParenteau, however, was the only two-goal scorer for Colorado. There were two others -- Paul Stastny with his first two of the season and John Mitchell with his third and fourth. Matt Duchene also picked up two points for the Avs with two assists. The game was tied 3-3 until the third period. Colorado scored three goals with less than three minutes remaining in regulation, including an empty-netter by Parenteau.

Parenteau nets first goal with Avs | 01/23/2013 10:25 AM
NewsP. A. Parenteau scored his first goal with the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
ImpactParenteau inked a four-year/$16 million contract with the Avalanche over the summer after two strong seasons with the New York Islanders. There's some that are concerned that his success was directly tied to John Tavares and he'll consequently regress now that they're separated. We aren't too concerned about that and think he should still end up with 35-40 points in the shortened season.
P.A. Parenteau skates on top line | 01/13/2013 11:02 PM
NewsNewly-acquired winger P.A. Parenteau skated on the Avalanche's top line in the team's first scrimmage Sunday.
ImpactParenteau was teamed with offensive dynamos Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog for the team's first session, a unit that's expected to at least begin the season together, though their ability to remain together will be wholly dependant on their performance. If nothing else, this is confirmation that Colorado coach Joe Sacco intends to use Parenteau in a scoring capacity.
Parenteau might play alongside Duchene | 01/10/2013 11:20 AM
NewsWith the lockout finally over, P. A. Parenteau might get put on a line with Matt Duchene.
Impact"I signed here because I knew there were a lot of good forwards and an opportunity to play with great players. I'll play with whoever they want me to play," Parenteau said. "I think I'd be a good match with Dutchy, for sure. I don't think he had the season he wanted last year, with all the injuries. But he looks pretty good out there, looks ready to go." Many suspect that Parenteau's success in recent years is due to him playing alongside John Tavares. While that certainly didn't hurt, Parenteau should get plenty of opportunities in Colorado and we don't expect him to suffer a significant drop in production.
