|Assets:||Has excellent offensive instincts, which he exploits brilliantly on the power play thanks to deft puck control and passing ability. Can line up both at wing and center (if need be). Is a proven point producer.|
|Flaws:||Is somewhat undersized and needs to keep adding more muscle, because he can be knocked off the puck. Not an especially great straightline skater, he must also continue to work on his play without the puck.|
|Career Potential:||Solid, skilled point producer.|

Impact``We're a proud bunch of guys and we're not going to give (the Wild) an inch out there,`` Avs forward P.A. Parenteau said. That's what it's all about." Added Colorado teammate Matt Duchene: ``Obviously it's a big one for them. Hopefully the building will be full, and we can knock Minnesota out. That will be real nice. I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't. That's a division rival and team that's had our number for a while."

NewsFor all their struggles, it seems like the Colorado Avalanche have hit a home run with the acquisition of P.A. Parenteau.
ImpactParenteau had two assists while his partner in crime Matt Duchene scored a goal and a helper. There's a huge drop-off in Avalanche scoring from Parenteau (40 points), Duchene (39) and everyone else, with Paul Stastny in third at just 19.

ImpactParenteau has 14 goals and 35 points in 34 games this season and is showing the hockey world that the Avs signing him to a lucrative four-year/$16 million deal in the off-season was a good move. Look for him to continue to pick up points the rest of the way and he should end up as a top-20 scorer in the NHL this season.

NewsP.A. Parenteau scored a goal and added an assist, but it wasn't enough as the Avalanche lost to Vancouver by a score of 3-2 Sunday.
ImpactParenteau is exceeding all expectations with 31 points in as many games this season after experiencing what many believed would go on to be a career season with 67 points on Long Island last year. Jamie McGinn also scored for the Avs while Ryan O'Reilly dished out two helpers in the losing effort.

P.A. Parenteau keeps producing | 03/03/2013 7:18 PM
NewsAlong with Matt Duchene, P.A. Parenteau might be the most pleasant surprise of the Colorado Avalanche's tough 2013 season.
ImpactMany wondered if he'd convert his breakout work with the New York Islanders to a new team. He might even be a better fit in Colorado, with nine goals and 18 points in 20 games. Parenteau scored the Avalanche's only tally in a 2-1 OT loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.

The winger has eight goals and 15 points on the season. Cody McLeod and John Mitchell notched the other goals, while Ryan O'Byrne chipped in with two helpers.

Parenteau nets first goal with Avs | 01/23/2013 10:25 AM
NewsP. A. Parenteau scored his first goal with the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
ImpactParenteau inked a four-year/$16 million contract with the Avalanche over the summer after two strong seasons with the New York Islanders. There's some that are concerned that his success was directly tied to John Tavares and he'll consequently regress now that they're separated. We aren't too concerned about that and think he should still end up with 35-40 points in the shortened season.

If nothing else, this is confirmation that Colorado coach Joe Sacco intends to use Parenteau in a scoring capacity.
Parenteau might play alongside Duchene | 01/10/2013 11:20 AM
NewsWith the lockout finally over, P. A. Parenteau might get put on a line with Matt Duchene.
Impact"I signed here because I knew there were a lot of good forwards and an opportunity to play with great players. I'll play with whoever they want me to play," Parenteau said. "I think I'd be a good match with Dutchy, for sure. I don't think he had the season he wanted last year, with all the injuries. But he looks pretty good out there, looks ready to go." Many suspect that Parenteau's success in recent years is due to him playing alongside John Tavares. While that certainly didn't hurt, Parenteau should get plenty of opportunities in Colorado and we don't expect him to suffer a significant drop in production.
