ImpactCammalleri was injured during the lockout when Steve Stamkos took a shot that knocked out his front teeth. Cammalleri has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $5.968 million while receiving $7 million so he could be dealt or bought out in the off-season, if the Flames are looking to pare salary.

ImpactCammalleri has been held pointless in four games thus far and has only three shots on goal. "I've watched Cammy in so many games - he's a game-breaker," Hartley said Monday. "He's one of those guys that might not get a chance for the first two periods and, suddenly in the third, the score is 2-2 . . . and you want the puck on his stick because he can make the difference." Look for Cammalleri to break out soon and try to have him active when he does. "I sat with him on Saturday morning. I told him, `Just keep working hard. Don't get frustrated. Good things happen. And you do the right things.' I'm expecting big things out of Cammy."

ImpactThe 30-year-old veteran was one of the faces of the Players Association as he took a very active part in the proceedings but is now happy to just be playing. "One of the big things the lockout did - maybe especially for a veteran player - is make you appreciate so much what we do for a living and just how much fun this is on so many different levels," Cammalleri said. We play a sport where team play is exemplified more than any other sport. If we can become a good team, those odds change quickly." Any team is obviously capable of defying the odds, especially in a shortened season, but that doesn't mean that most will. Going into the season, Calgary should be regarded as a bubble team in the playoff race at best.
