NewsDefenseman Fedor Tyutin will not face supplemental discipline for a hit to the head of Rangers forward Taylor Pyatt in the second period of Thursday's game.
ImpactTyutin was whistled for an elbowing minor but replays showed that his arm remained tucked during the open-ice hit, during which Pyatt had his head down. Pyatt left the ice after the hit and did not return.

NewsFedor Tyutin, in an attempt to support goaltender Semyon Varlamov, made a statement that he now regrets.
ImpactVarlamov has been charged with second-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault due to an alleged incident with his girlfriend. In a translated Russian interview, Tyutin said, "It's just American laws are on the women's side. That's why they can go to the police for any little thing, complain and bring a lot of problems to men. That's why the only mistake of Semyon is that he got together with this girl." Tyutin has since stated that he doesn't support violence against women and feels he should have chosen his words better. "The words came out . I'm totally against it," Tyutin said. "My two little daughters and my wife ... I would never want anybody to do anything like that against them." Blue Jackets president John Davidson issued a statement that the team doesn't believe Tyutin was condoning violence against women.
