|Assets:||Is an excellent penalty-killer. Plays the game with tremendous energy and combativeness. Is versatile enough to play on either side of center, and can also fill out a scoring line. Can at times unleash a huge slap shot.|
|Flaws:||Needs to bury more of his chances around the goal area, since he tends to get a lot. Is too inconsistent on offense and even lacks a bit of offensive awareness at times. His exuberance can sometimes lead to bad penalties.|
|Career Potential:||Complementary energy winger with defensive ability.|

Dupuis not worried about offensive production | 11/29/2013 9:57 AM
NewsThe Pittsburgh Penguins remain happy with Pascal Dupuis despite his underwhelming offensive production.
Impact"I don't [evaluate] my game on points and goals and stuff," Dupuis said. "They're bonuses." Instead, Dupuis puts an emphasis on his defensive efforts and in that area he's been strong. From a fantasy perspective though, Dupuis' 13 points in 26 games leaves much to be desired after he broke out in 2011-12 with a 59-point effort and reinforced that in the shortened campaign.
Pascal Dupuis in goal scoring slump | 11/11/2013 9:26 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis has not scored a goal in his last 11 games.
ImpactDupuis has only two goals in 17 games this season but does have nine points after a 10 goal and 38 point season in 2013 in just 48 games. He should break loose soon so don't lose faith just yet.

Dupuis is day-to-day with undisclosed injury | 11/08/2013 10:51 AM

Pascal Dupuis feels comfortable in Pittsburgh | 09/05/2013 8:14 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis jumped at the chance to re-sign with Pittsburgh earlier this summer.
ImpactHe chose not to enter free agency in July and inked a four-year contract worth $3.75 million per season to remain with the Penguins. "I wanted to come back," Dupuis said. "So did my wife and kids. Everybody surrounding me kept telling me, 'Yes, it's a great situation for you.' I knew I wanted to come back and play with what I believe is the best team in the NHL for another four years." He will probably skate alongside Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz again in 2013-14.
Dupuis signs 4-year extension with Pens | 07/02/2013 11:57 PM
NewsPascal Dupuis reached a four-year contract extension worth $15 million with the Pittsburgh Penguins late Tuesday night.
ImpactAfter a number of reports saying that the two sides were far from reaching a deal, Dupuis has surprisingly come to terms on a new contract that runs through the 2016-2017 season and avoids free agency. The 34-year-old winger was a top priority for GM Ray Shero, as he was coming off a 20 goal, 38 point season for the Pens. He earns a sizeable raise, after making just $1.5 million annually each of the past two seasons. Now that they've made a financial commitment to him, expect Dupuis to continue playing the same key role for Pittsburgh, making him a viable fantasy option for next season.
Talks aren't progressing with Pascal Dupuis | 07/01/2013 1:56 PM
NewsContract talks between Pascal Dupuis and the Penguins are still ongoing, but they aren't believed to be close to reaching a new deal.
ImpactPittsburgh GM Ray Shero wants to keep Dupuis in the fold, but he doesn't have much time before the winger can start talking to other teams before becoming an unrestricted free agent on Friday. The Montreal Canadiens are thought to be a contender for his services if he hits free agency.
GM Shero: Dupuis is 'deserving of a raise' | 06/22/2013 5:07 PM
NewsPittsburgh GM Ray Shero admitted that Pascal Dupuis is "certainly deserving of a raise."
Impact"He's gotten better as he's gone on," said Shero. "Usually, it works the opposite. Whatever he gets, he'll deserve, whether it's from us or someone else." Dupuis made $1.5 million the past two seasons with the Penguins. He hit the 20-goal mark both times during that span and recorded a career-high 59 points in 2011-12. He would like to return to Pittsburgh and negotiations have already started, but if new terms cannot be agreed to then he could end up testing the market as a free agent.
Penguins begin talks with Pascal Dupuis | 06/19/2013 11:38 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis's agent Allan Walsh and Pittsburgh GM Ray Shero have started discussing a new contract.
ImpactDupuis has re-signed with the Penguins twice since he joined the team via a trade in February 2008 and both times he agreed to a two-year deal. The 34-year-old winger would like a contract that he can retire on, but getting a long-term contract from GM Ray Shero may be tough. The Penguins haven't given a four-year deal to a player in his 30s since Shero received the job in May 2006. Dupuis can become an unrestricted free agent on July 5 if something isn't worked out with Pittsburgh.
Report: Pens, Dupuis camp to talk next week | 06/14/2013 9:37 AM
NewsPittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero and the agent for Pascal Dupuis are expected to start contract talks next week, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Rob Rossi.
ImpactAccording to Rossi, Shero wants to find out whether Dupuis is willing to re-sign with the Pens prior to free agency opening July 5. Dupuis is a top priority for Shero due to his scoring (45 goals over the last two seasons), place in the locker room and status as the preferred right winger of Sidney Crosby. However, Dupuis made just $1.5 million each of the last two seasons and will likely be seeking a hefty raise. With Crosby and Evgeni Malkin locked up to long-term, big-money deals and defenseman Kris Letang seeking one of his own, Shero is likely going to have to make some tough choices this summer.
Report: Pascal Dupuis wants a four-year deal | 06/10/2013 11:01 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis is believed to be seeking a four-year deal.
ImpactThat's probably longer than the Penguins want to commit to with the 34-year-old forward, but they might do it if it means he'll take less money annually. Fitting Dupuis in under the salary cap will be difficult for the 2013-14 campaign, but not impossible if they can shed salary elsewhere. He had 20 goals and 38 points in 48 games this season.
Pascal Dupuis hopes to return to Pittsburgh | 06/09/2013 2:49 PM
NewsSoon-to-be unrestricted free agent Pascal Dupuis said he hopes to return to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2013-14.
Pittsburgh Penguins on Twitter
ImpactTo state the obvious, that would require the team handing him a significant raise from his previous $1.5 million cap hit. The organization has some big questions to answer, as it'll be interesting to see if they want to bring back his frequent linemate Matt Cooke back, too. Dupuis was unexpectedly the mainstay of the Marian Hossa trade.
Dupuis hopes Pens' firepower pulls through | 06/06/2013 6:09 PM
NewsPascal Dupuis is hopeful that Pittsburgh will start finding the back of the net in Game 4 Friday night.
Impact"We know that with the firepower we have on our team eventually they will go in," Dupuis said. "Hopefully that will be tomorrow because we need them." The Penguins have scored just two goals in three games versus Boston and if their offense doesn't kick into gear then he could be swept from the playoffs Dupuis and Sidney Crosby are tied for the team lead with seven goals during the 2013 postseason, but neither of them has found the back of the net in the series so far.
Pascal Dupuis has been a bargain this year | 05/27/2013 10:50 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis has been a big bargain for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
ImpactDupuis comes with a $1.5 million cap hit and has seven goals and 10 points in 11 playoff contests. "I'm glad when people think I deserve more," Dupuis said. "That means I must be doing a good job." It also reinforces the fact that he'll get a big raise this summer. The problem from the Penguins' perspective is that the team is already close to the cap and will consequently have a tough time re-signing Dupuis.
Dupuis ties Lemieux for a franchise record | 05/23/2013 12:36 PM
NewsPascal Dupuis tied a franchise record set by Penguins' great Mario Lemieux by scoring his second shorthanded goal of the playoffs on Wednesday night.

Pascal Dupuis leads with 2 shorthanded goals | 05/23/2013 2:12 AM

Pascal Dupuis gets it done without PPGs | 05/16/2013 12:10 PM
NewsPascal Dupuis is tied for the playoff lead with six goals entering Thursday night's action and unsurprisingly he doesn't have any on the power play.
ImpactHe's played one second of man advantage time for the Penguins in the playoffs, which is the lowest on the team, but that isn't anything new for him as he averaged just 48 seconds of power-play time during the regular season. He has scored 20 of his 175 career regular-season goals when his team has been up a man. Oddly enough, he nearly has as many goals when his team is on the penalty kill (15) and he scored a shorthanded marker in Game 1 against Ottawa. The bulk of his goals come while skating five-on-five though. "He's been one of the best even-strength goal-scorers in the league for quite some time now," coach Dan Bylsma said. Of course this raises the question: why doesn't he get more power-play opportunities in the first place? It seems to work for the Penguins though, so don't expect them to change it.
Pascal Dupuis pots 2, Pens rout Isles in Gm1 | 05/01/2013 10:20 PM
NewsPascal Dupuis tallied two goals as the Penguins routed the Islanders 5-0 in the first game of their first-round series on Wednesday night.
ImpactThe offensive onslaught was on for the Penguins in this one, and it began 3:30 in when rookie Beau Bennett scored on the power play. Dupuis, who had five goals against the Isles in the regular season, would follow 10 minutes later with his first, then scored 22 seconds after Kris Letang's marker early in the second period. Tanner Glass ended the scoring with his first career playoff goal. Evgeni Malkin, Jarome Iginla and Jussi Jokinen each had two assists apiece. The Isles caused the game to get a little chippy at the end, so fantasy owners get rewarded with 10 penalty minutes from Dupuis and Iginla. Douglas Murray also had 12 minutes. Pittsburgh played a little defense, too, with Mark Eaton recording a whopping eight blocked shots.
Pascal Dupuis with another three-point night | 04/12/2013 11:37 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis scored a goal and had two assists during Thursday's 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
ImpactIt was Dupuis' second three-goal effort in as many games. Despite Sidney Crosby's absence, Dupuis continues to produce at an astounding level. The goal on Thursday was his 20th of the season and it came in just his 41st game. Dupuis, slated for unrestricted free agency this summer, picked the right time for a career year.

Just another night at the office for the Pens.
Pascal Dupuis notches pair in comeback win | 03/14/2013 9:48 PM
NewsPascal Dupuis scored two third period goals for the Penguins as they came from behind to notch a 3-1 win over Toronto.

Pascal Dupuis is riding high this season | 03/11/2013 11:10 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis netted two goals Sunday to give him 11 on the year.
ImpactHe is currently riding a three-game point streak with four markers and one assist over that time. If the 2012-13 season wasn't shortened by a lockout then Dupuis would be on pace to pass his career-high of 25 goals which he scored last year. He has enjoyed his team with red-hot sniper Chris Kunitz and Sidney Crosby this campaign.
Pascal Dupuis could be a UFA this summer | 02/26/2013 11:01 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis can become an unrestricted free agent this summer, but he would prefer to stay in Pittsburgh.
ImpactHe enjoyed a breakout year in 2011-12 and is playing well again this campaign alongside Sidney Crosby. "Now is the time to play hockey, said Dupuis' agent Allan Walsh. "The business side is a discussion better suited for the off-season. That being said, if Pittsburgh has something to say, we would always be open to listening." He'll turn 34 in April and is currently making $1.5 million.
Pascal Dupuis thriving - again - with Crosby | 02/18/2013 12:03 PM
NewsPascal Dupuis is playing well this season on the top line with Sidney Crosby.
ImpactIt's a situation that has worked out in the past and makes Dupuis, who had a goal Sunday, worth rostering in fantasy leagues. In 16 games, the 33-year-old has seven goals and 12 points. It helps to play with superstars as they draw most of the attention. Dupuis is coming off a career-high 59-point season. "We did it when Sid was healthy a few years ago," Dupuis said. "It seems like we're clicking again."
Pascal Dupuis scores lone Penguins goal | 01/30/2013 12:24 AM
NewsPascal Dupuis scored a late goal for Pittsburgh in a 4-1 loss to the Islanders Tuesday.
ImpactDupuis finished off a passing play set up by Sidney Crosby late in the third period to break up Evgeni Nabokov's shutout, but the marker provided little impact otherwise. For as long as he lines up alongside Crosby, Dupuis should offer some value in fantasy leagues.
