|Assets:||Was at his best when he went one on one against top forwards, since he could shut the best down with intimidation and poise. Had an accurate point shot, great size, sound hockey sense, mobility (for a big man) and an exemplary work ethic.|
|Flaws:||Didn't put up significant offensive numbers throughout his career. Was a little bit too hesitant with the puck on his stick, since he was not a natural stickhandler. Could be guilty of being a little too aggressive at times, resulting in a few bad penalties.|

"With Reg, again, he got hurt in Round 2, but no one saw other than us what he did in the locker room," Brown said. "He dressed, warm-ups, he was very vocal and a big part of our team inside that locker room that none of you guys got to see. At the end of the day, he's been a part of this team, and he's a big reason why we won." Regehr had three goals and 14 points in 79 games during the regular season.

He was driving to the Saskatchewan town of Rosthern with his brother, Dinho, and two female passengers when a car veered into their lane and hit them head on. Regehr had multiple fractures in his left leg and a puncture wound in his right leg. Two people in the other car died. Regehr had surgery to have two screws inserted in his left leg and was hospitalized for nine days. But he made his NHL debut that October, and that season became the youngest nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. "You've got to remember, a guy like Robyn Regehr, he wasn't supposed to play," Kings coach Darryl Sutter said. "He was a car accident injury away from hardly ever playing one game. So for him to get to this point is pretty significant."

ImpactThe 33-year-old blueliner has no fantasy value but is a valued member of the Kings defense as he is a steadying force. "I think if you look at Robyn as a player, he's always been known as a tough defender. He's a really good defender," said assistant coach John Stevens. "He gets people isolated along the boards and below the goal line, the plays he stops there. On top of that, he's not going to lead the rush, but he's capable of getting the puck and moving it up, getting it to his partner and making a support play. I think he's been very effective for us in that regard the last couple games."

NewsThe Los Angeles Kings need to improve their play in the third period according to defenseman Robyn Regehr.
ImpactThe Kings gave up an overtime goal in Game 1 and a poor goal in Game 2, while sitting back in Game 3 and allowing the Blues to outshoot them 10-2. "Yeah, I think we want to improve in third periods, most definitely," Regehr said. "We gave up the late goal in St. Louis in Game 2, and also just sat back too much here last night in Game 3. So for us, we want to come out and play an assertive, aggressive game. We want to be the one skating, getting pucks in, getting our forecheck going, things like that, because you want to put teams under constant pressure, and that's usually where you either tire them out or get your best chances. So we didn't do a very good job of that the last couple games, and most definitely we want to improve on that."

ImpactThe Sabres will receive a pair of second round picks from the Kings, a nice haul for the defenseman who is in the last year of his contract. Regehr will provide the Kings with a steadying presence on the blueline but will not have a lot of fantasy value as he has only two assists this season in 29 games with 21 penalty minutes and a minus-four rating. He was required to waive the no-movement clause in his contract, which he did for a shot at the Stanley Cup.
