Avs likely to be weak on blueline in 2013-14 | 07/07/2013 7:54 AM
NewsThe Colorado Avalanche blueline looks to be weak again next season.
ImpactThe Avs picked up Cory Sarich in a trade over a week ago but he is likely a seventh or eighth defenseman under the best of circumstances so the Avalanche should head into the 2013-14 with the same weak blueline as last season when Erik Johnson, Jan Hejda, Ryan Wilson, Tyson Barrie, Stefan Elliott and Matt Hunwick led the way. Wilson was the best of the bunch and was injured for most of the shortened season, so they could be slightly better but the weak blueline does not bode well for goaltender Semyon Varlamov and all poolies who take him.
