|Assets:||Possesses tremendous reach, excellent vision and creativity, as well as a deadly shot. Skates very well for a 6-4 center. Has good hand/eye coordination and a winning attitude. Is somewhat physical and a willing combatant.|
|Flaws:||Can go into prolonged scoring funks from time to time. Is in offensive decline, in general. Since he will occasionally drop the gloves, that penalizes his team more because he's needed more on the ice.|

It's more lateral movements that are the issue," he said. "When I skate forward it feels really good. It's more in tight turns, stops, little things like that where you don't want to push it too much before you see where the healing is at."

ImpactLecavlier is progressing as expected and the Lightning say he hasn't suffered any setbacks, but it remains to be seen at what point he'll be back in the lineup. With the Lightning entering the final month of the season and far out of the playoff chase, it wouldn't shock us if Lecavalier gets shut down at some point. Is it time to trade Vincent Lecavalier? | 03/02/2013 3:10 PM
NewsA St. Petersburg Times writer argued that it's time to trade Vincent Lecavalier.
St. Petersburg Times
ImpactOf course, that kind of talk isn't revolutionary. Lecavalier has been the subject of trade rumors for years, but his struggles over his previous four campaigns relative to his $7,727,273 annual cap hit through 2019-20 made that a moot point. Maybe there were times when the Lightning wanted to trade him, but they couldn't expect much given his contract. However, Lecavalier is playing better this season with six goals and 17 points and the Lightning now even have the ability to eat some of his salary and cap hit should they trade him thanks to the new CBA. So there might be a decent market for him depending on how creative the Lightning are willing to get. At the same time, we aren't expecting the Lightning to make a major trade, although we're sure the Lecavalier trade rumors will heat up as we approach the deadline.
