ImpactZadorov really is not much of an option for owners, with just three goals and 13 points for 40 games this seasons. He does have 37 penalty minutes, but it is not enough to warrant a roster spot.

NewsNikita Zadorov netted his first career NHL goal on his first shot in Buffalo's 5-2 loss to Boston Wednesday night.
ImpactHe logged 17:44 of ice time, while finishing the contest with four hits and a minus-1 rating. Zadorov would like to remain with the Sabres for the rest of the season and he has two games of his nine-game trial under his belt. "They just told me if you stay here just play hard every shift and practice hard," Zadorov said. "We'll see what coaches think and Darcy about that. I just do my job."

Zadorov suffered a "smashed" finger tip on his left hand during training camp, but stayed up with the team. Buffalo wants to give him some NHL action and then it's expected that he'll be returned to the junior ranks.

ImpactHe was asked if Zadorov's NHL debut was imminent and he said, "could be tonight" after stating that the Sabres could "possibly" be using seven defensmen against the Colorado Avalanche. Buffalo would need to make a roster move prior to the game, so that Zadorov can be taken off their injured non-roster list.
