Tyler Toffoli does not hit the scoresheet | 11/16/2013 9:32 AM
NewsTyler Toffoli did not pick up a point for the first time this season.
ImpactToffoli has only played in six NHL games this season and Friday was the first pointless game of the year for him. He has three goals, seven points and a plus-four rating since his recall on November 1, so he is definitely worth looking at in fantasy pools at this time.
| 11/15/2013 3:37 PM
NewsTyler Toffoli is making the most of his opportunity since being called up to the big leagues.
ImpactToffoli has posted seven points in five contests since joining the Kings on Nov. 1. The Kings have been bitten by the injury bug as of late which resulted in Toffoli being called up from the minors. During the last two weeks, he's appearing in 46 percent of the Kings' power-play opportunities while averaging three shots per contest. Toffoli essentially has been attached to the hip of Mike Richards as he's spent 81.4 percent of his shifts alongside the veteran and as long as he continues to receive that type of ice-time, his fantasy value will continue to skyrocket. At just 14 percent Yahoo! owned, he's a huge bargain bin pickup at the moment.
Tyler Toffoli has gotten off to a hot start | 11/15/2013 9:41 AM
NewsTyler Toffoli is riding a five-game point streak since being called up on Nov. 1.

ImpactToffoli, who has 14 games of NHL experience, didn't make the opening-night roster, but he had 12 points in 10 AHL games. The 21-year-old has played very well in the three games since his call up (all this month), earning points in all of them. The three points Saturday boosted his season output to five. Toffoli was on the ice for 17:29, got four shots on a goal and finished with a plus-three rating. Mike Richards also had a three-point night with a goal and two helpers, and he's now notched points in four straight, good for 16 on the year. NewsThe Los Angeles Kings opted to send winger Tyler Toffoli to the minors on Sunday.
James Mirtle on Twitter
ImpactThis is more than a slight surprise, as Toffoli even earned some top-line time when Dustin Brown was injured during the preseason. You'd think he made enough of an impression to get more than a cup of coffee, but that it appears not to be the case, at least for now.
Tyler Toffol temporary fill-in for | 09/15/2013 8:13 PM
NewsTyler Toffoli skated on the Los Angeles' Kings top line in a scrimmage Saturday, taking the place of injured Dustin Brown alongside Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams.
ImpactThe slight injury Brown suffered during an on-ice drill Thursday is located in his hamstring and shouldn't have a major impact in preparations for the season, coach Darryl Sutter told LA Kings Insider. "We're just going to be careful with [Brown]," Sutter said. "It's not very often a hockey player other than a goalie has a hamstring [injury], so I just want to be careful with him. ... Just make sure he's getting ready for the end of camp."
Tyler Toffoli not a lock to make Kings | 09/13/2013 11:31 AM
NewsTyler Toffoli isn't a lock to make the Los Angeles Kings' roster out of training camp, according to coach Darryl Sutter.
ImpactThat's not surprising, but the odds are heavily stacked in Toffoli's favor. He had 28 goals and 51 points in 58 AHL games last season and another five points in 10 contests with the Los Angeles Kings. He also held his own during the Kings playoffs run and is projected to be one of the NHL's top rookies in 2013-14.
Kings coach changes mind on Tyler Toffoli | 09/07/2013 11:03 AM
NewsAlthough Coach Darryl Sutter said last season he wanted right wing Tyler Toffoli to be prepared to play left wing this season in order to boost the team's scoring from that side, Sutter seems to have had a change of heart. He might now leave Toffoli alone rather than complicate the gifted scorer's thinking processes.
Los Angeles Times
ImpactHe might now leave Toffoli alone rather than complicate the gifted scorer's thinking processes. "I don't want to set Tyler back. That's my thinking," Sutter said Friday. "I'm not going to spend a lot of time. If he's way better on the right than he is on the left, that's the best chance. I'm really cautious about that one, because he's never played it and he's a good player. We'll see. He's done a lot with it this summer. Quite honestly I haven't put a whole lot into that."
Kings want to see what Toffoli can bring | 06/12/2013 1:38 PM
NewsTyler Toffoli may get a better chance to playing in Los Angeles' top-six forward group if he can adapt to playing left wing.
ImpactToffoli said the decision is up to the team and he'll play wherever he's needed. Coach Darryl Sutter wasn't prepared to commit to anything. "Plan is to get him stronger first. Then see if he's a good winger in the American Hockey League or a winger in the National Hockey League," Sutter said. "That will be the first step." Sutter wants to see if Toffoli can handle playing a full 82-game schedule, so look for 21-year-old to try to bulk up over the summer. Toffoli feels like he's up for the challenge.
Justin Williams lauds Tyler Toffoli's future | 06/04/2013 9:34 AM
NewsJustin Williams had nothing but praise for Tyler Toffoli after Sunday's Game 2.
Los Angeles Times
ImpactToffoli jumped up to the Kings' second line with Mike Richards (upper body) out of the lineup and had a goal and an assist playing with Williams and Jeff Carter. "I think Tyler is going to be a phenomenal NHL player, for a long time," Williams said Sunday night. Toffoli has two goals and four points in nine games this postseason, which is nearly identical to his regular-season performance of two goals and five points in 10 games. If Richards is out for Tuesday's Game 3, it's highly possible Toffoli will find himself with Carter and Williams again.

ImpactToffoli drew an assist on Jeff Carter's sixth tally of the playoffs then scored his second of the postseason in the game's dying minutes. This contest's result was well in hand by the time the Kings started scoring, but that doesn't make Toffoli's performance any less impressive.

ImpactHe also picked up his first assist in a 4-0 win over Phoenix as he beat Mike Smith for the tally. "It was incredible," Toffoli said of the standing ovation he received. "I didn't expect that. I had goosebumps. It was a great feeling." Toffoli had 52 goals and 100 points in the OHL last season and the Kings are looking for him to be a top-six forward. He played alongside Jeff Carter and Mike Richards and that won't hurt his offensive potential.
Tyler Toffoli a healthy scratch Monday | 03/12/2013 9:48 AM
NewsTyler Toffoli was a healthy scratch on Monday.
Los Angeles Daily News
ImpactToffoli was recalled Sunday as the Kings do not have a lot of depth at forward since Simon Gagne was sent packing back to Philadelphia. He had 28 goals and 48 points in 55 games in the AHL, not a bad start for a rookie. He is a scorer but is not worth picking up at this time as it is unlikely that he will get a spot as a top six forward.

ImpactThe Kings second round pick in the 2010 draft had 52 goals and 100 points for the Ottawa 67s of the OHL last season and he has not missed a step offensively as he had 28 goals and 48 points for the Kings AHL franchise in the AHL. Look for Toffoli to make his NHL debut this week. He will likely have a short stay in the NHL at this time, unless he is able to light it up.
Tyler Toffoli pots 2, now has 16 on the year | 01/04/2013 9:27 PM
NewsTyler Toffoli netted two goals in Manchester's 3-2 win over St. John's on Friday night.
ImpactToffoli was taken in the second round of the 2010 draft and is playing in his first full AHL season. Nobody could expect a 100-point season like he had in the OHL, but with 16 goals and 25 points in 33 games, the 21-year-old is enjoying a pretty fine campaign against better competition.
