Rookie Emerson Etem leads the Ducks in plus/minus in the post-season with a plus-five.
Etem has been a pleasant surprise for the Ducks in the playoffs as he has also chipped in with a couple of goals and a pair of assists in the first six games against the Red Wings. "He's been one of our best players if not our best player," Coach Bruce Boudreau said. "It's a great sign for the future of the Ducks, but it's also a great sign for now, because we need him." Etem is averaging only 12:21 minutes per game in the playoffs but expect a lot more next season as he should grab a regular top-six role on the Ducks.

I'm just here to create energy and help the team win." Grab Etem in all keeper leagues next season as the speedy skater could break out as an offensive star at any time.

Etem will skate alongside Andrew Cogliano and Teemu Selanne. This situation is worth keeping an eye on as Etem has a ton of offensive upside, but has only been averaging 10:51 minutes per game this season.

Etem's goal was just the third of his young career and given his limited ice time he's not worth a roster spot in anything but a keeper league. Andrew Cogliano and Bryan Allen drew assists on the goal.

You've got to keep them playing," Boudreau said. "These are opportunities. We want someone to take the ball and run with it. With the chance, Emerson is in that situation. You want pressure from underneath to push the guys above to get better."

He is a goal scorer as seen by his 45 and 37 goals the last two seasons in the WHL and while he may have had a better shot if camps opened in September, he did get some nice playing time in the AHL during the lockout. He managed to score nine times in 34 games, albeit with only one assist. "He looks like a man out there," Ducks Coach Bruce Boudreau said following Monday's practice, and after praising Etem's skating skills in Sunday's long session. "He has a powerful stride. He looks determined. He may need [more seasoning]. I'm not saying he does. I'm quite impressed with him." He is worth selecting late in keeper leagues.
