NewsAlexander Burmistrov logged a season-high 20:45 of ice time in Tuesday's shootout win against Tampa Bay.
ImpactThe Jets third line of Burmistrov, Eric Tangradi and Mike Santorelli was praised for their work after the contest by coach Claude Noel. "I thought they were outstanding," Noel said. "I thought they were really good. That was one of the better games I've seen Burmi play. He was really good." From a fantasy standpoint, Burmistrov had two shots, a minus-1 rating and four hits. He's taking a defensive role as the regular season nears completion.

ImpactThe Russian forward has yet to take the type of step forward the Jets had hoped for and Burmistrov's name was bandied about in numerous trade rumors leading up to the deadline, which may have jolted him back to life. Thursday's goal was his fourth of the campaign in 35 games.

ImpactBurmistrov has been a healthy scratch the last four games, although coach Claude Noel said after Sunday's loss that he needs to play his fourth line more, making Burmistrov's return to the lineup a sensible one. There's no fantasy value here though, so this shouldn't affect most formats.
