Tyler Seguin still isn't having much luck in the goal-scoring department, but he does have three assists in his past three games.
He has collected a helper in each game of the Stanley Cup Finals against Chicago. Seguin is playing well with energy forwards Daniel Paille and Chris Kelly on Boston's newly-formed third line. However, he has only one goal in 19 postseason contests.

There were a lot of chances," Seguin said. "I need to find a way to score those. There are no excuses left anymore. This is the Stanley Cup Final." If Nathan Horton (upper body) is unable to play on Saturday, then Seguin will probably be on the top line.

Boston Bruins coach Claude Julien says Tyler Seguin needs to finish some of the offensive chances he missed in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Julien was very complimentary of Seguin overall, but the "finish" quote is the one that stands out. Seguin has just one goal in 17 playoff games and missed on at least one memorable chance in overtime Wednesday night while skating in place of the injured Nathan Horton. If Horton can't play Saturday, Seguin would likely take his place on Boston's top line with David Krejci and Milan Lucic, which has been arguably the best line of the entire postseason.

He had some chances," Julien said. "He's got speed up there with them. He's got skill. For him, it's an opportunity right now. He did a great job. We'll see where everybody stands here by Saturday." If Horton can't play in Game 2 then Seguin will probably stay on Boston's first line.

It's probable that he will remain up with David Krejci and Milan Lucic if Horton is unable for Game 2 Saturday night. Seguin earned an assist on Patrice Bergeron's power-play marker early in the third to give the Bruins a 3-1 lead, but Chicago stormed back to tie it and force overtime. The game was won by the Blackhawks in the third extra session. Seguin finished the match with team-high eight shots.

Seguin and Kane played for EHC Biel during the lockout. "It's funny how it all works out in the end, right?" said Seguin. "He's definitely a great player, and he just recently has gotten very hot. So we have to be ready for him." While Kane played a big role in the Blackhawks' five-game victory over the Los Angeles Kings, Seguin has struggled offensively in the postseason. Seguin has just a goal and four points in 16 playoff contests. Still, Seguin can't be overlooked as he certainly has the potential to be a difference-maker in this series.

Tyler Seguin thinks the Bruins will have to continue to elevate their game if they want to take a 2-0 series lead.
"Game 2 is always a tougher game than Game 1," said Seguin. "Usually you find two teams checking each other out in the first game. It was a good first game, but we're expecting a lot harder game from both teams tonight." The pressure is certainly on Pittsburgh to take this game and avoid being behind 2-0 going into Boston. Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals was just the second time in the 2013 playoffs that Pittsburgh was held to less than three goals.

Coach Claude Julien believes Tyler Seguin started to play better at the end of Boston's semifinal series against the New York Rangers.
"If anything, he's competed a lot harder. He's battling, he's in there," said Julien. "On the power play he's made some good plays and he's done a good job. I think right now, to me, that line in the last two games was better. They're kind of getting to know each other a little bit better and finding each other on the ice a little bit easier. (Yesterday) in practice, I saw the same thing. We know that that line is going to be an important line for us in the next round. Right now I see that line improving." Seguin is projected to stay with struggling third-liners Chris Kelly and Rich Peverley when the Eastern Conference Finals begin. He recorded a goal and two assists in Games 4 and 5 after earning just one helper in his previous 10 playoff matches. However, both of his assists came on Bruins power plays and his marker was scored just after a man-advantage situation had expired.

Tyler Seguin will be a key player to watch in the Eastern Conference finals.
The Boston Bruins lost all three of their regular season games against the Pittsburgh Penguins, but Seguin scored a goal in each of those contests. No other Bruins player managed multiple goals against Pittsburgh this year. Seguin has been quiet offensively for most of the playoffs, but he's heated up recently with a goal and three points in two games.

The Bruins visit Toronto with a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series. Seguin and Marchand haveSeguin and Marchand have combined for two points during the first five games. The entire line has not been great, but Patrice Bergeron is an exception because he is as consistent as they come when on the ice in all three zones. Asked if he needs Seguin and Marchand to turn in stellar performances tonight, Boston coach Claude Julien said: "We do, I'll leave it at that, we do," Julien said. "That has to come for us to be successful starting next game. It's something that's called accountability and we have more of that from that line as far as being a difference-maker or at least something positive. If we could get those guys going, it would really help our team a lot."

Coach Claude Julien thinks Tyler Seguin was a little too tentative playing in Toronto.
"This is his hometown and he seems a bit nervous here," said Julien after Boston's Game 4 overtime win. "I thought he played really well the first two games. In Boston, he was a really good player and here not quite as good. But he's certainly a guy we feel very confident he can turn it around ..." Seguin doesn't have a point in the first four games of the series, but he amassed 15 shots in Boston compared to just three at Toronto.

Despite having not recorded a point yet in the postseason, Bruins Tyler Seguin has possibly been the team's best player through two games.
Seguin has recorded a league-leading 15 shots on goal in the two contests and has generated countless scoring opportunities despite not being able to beat goaltender James Reimer. The third-year forward expressed dissatisfaction after the team's recent loss to Toronto, saying "It's frustrating. A couple of bad bounces, a couple of plays where maybe I could have been a little more patient in settling down the puck and bearing down. We tried to stay focused throughout the game, especially at the end. When you look back at it, yeah, it's frustrating not getting the results."

Tyler Seguin already has 20 games of NHL playoff experience under his belt.
Over that span, he has registered five goals and five assists. "I feel like I have more experience. I've tried to advance and complete my game as a forward, at both ends of the ice," he said. "So with the game I play now, I'm more confident going into the first-round series than I was last year." Bruins president Cam Neely talked about wanting to see Seguin shoot more on Tuesday and it appears as though he has gotten the message. The Bruins will host Toronto in Wednesday night's playoff opener.

"Obviously the Leafs, this is their first time making the playoffs since 2004 and the first time since I've been watching them growing up, so it's definitely going to be a fun experience ... Seguin has played well against Toronto, which has fueled the fire a bit more from the controversial Phil Kessel trade. The two of them will no doubt be watched closely and compared throughout the series.

Tyler Seguin started Monday's match against Carolina playing the wing on the third line following an unimpressive stint at center on the second unit.
"It wasn't working," he said. "We were out there for the first goal [Saturday night vs. Montreal]. It just wasn't good work in our own zone. We were kind of running around a bit. I can't say I was shocked that it got changed." Chris Kelly's return to the lineup allowed Seguin to shift back to the wing and the two of them played with Daniel Paille on the third line.

Tyler Seguin admitted there was some difficulty moving to center Thursday night in place of Patrice Bergeron (concussion).
The Bruins have played Seguin at center before and he played the position a lot in junior, but Seguin admitted it's not the same. "It's one thing being a centerman and going to the NHL," Seguin said. "It's another thing going to center to wing in the NHL, then going back to center. It's going to take some adjustment." Seguin already has center eligibility in most fantasy formats. The bigger question is how much the move and Bergeron's absence will affect his scoring production. We'll monitor the situation and update you as it develops.

Seguin has extra motivation to perform well against the Leafs, as he likely would have been a member of the franchise had they not traded the pick Boston used to select him in the Phil Kessel deal. Tyler Seguin wasn't happy about the cross-check-like hit he took from Montreal's Alexei Emelin in Sunday's loss to the Canadiens.
"I kind of really didn't see that guy coming," he said. "I don't know if they call it a bridge or whatnot, but that guy kind of came across and his stick kind of came up on my side and that's kind of it. "The one thing I don't want you guys to get confused about is that we don't expect him to become a defensive player," Juklien said. "He's a goalscorer, he's an offensive player, and we want him to thrive in those areas. But for him to become a real good two-way player and for him to take pride at both ends of the rink is a bonus for us." Seguin will carry a five-game point streak into Thursday night's match versus Ottawa, but he has scored just three times in 16 games so far this season.

Unbelievably, he has scored only one non-empty net goal this season. Seguin has alternated between the Bruins' first and second lines and will continue to do so until he clicks on some unit. Claude Julien is unsure if Tyler Seguin will play on the top line Saturday.
The Bruins coach flipped Seguin and Nathan Horton in Wednesday's game, and the trio of Seguin, Milan Lucic and David Krejci made a big impact with two goals in the 2-1 win. "I've got time to change my mind in that one," Julien. "It's a good question. We don't want to overlook the fact that that line with [Horton] was our best line." The other aspect is that when that line was together last year, it struggled defensively.

Tyler Seguin clicked Wednesday night after being placed on the same line as David Krejci and Milan Lucic.
"There's going to be some nights when things aren't going so well," coach Claude Julien said. "We all know the Krejci line has been awesome for us. Both had two penalty minutes as well. It's still very early yet, but Seguin hasn't found that the top-notch gear we expected him to perfect this season. The goal was just his second -- and it was only his sixth point in nine games. Krejci now has three goals and nine points. Milan Lucic had the other assist to go with four penalty minutes.

An individual in the stands of the TD Garden tossed what was believed to be a pretzel, or a hot dog, onto the ice during his first breakaway attempt, which Seguin scored on, but he had to do it again after the referees called it off. Seguin scored on his second shot as well and Brad Marchand potted the winner as the team's sixth shooter. Seguin scored his first goal of the season, albeit into an empty net, on Monday versus Carolina and he added an assist in that match as well. He has gotten off to a slow start with three points through six games, but it looks like he is beginning to hit his stride again.

Tyler Seguin's goal-scoring success in Switzerland during the lockout hasn't translated into anything of note back in the NHL so far this season.
He potted 25 goals and 40 points in 29 games with his Swiss League club, but as a member of the Bruins this campaign he has been held without a goal and has one assist after four games. He's been getting his chances with 11 shots and he misfired on an empty0net opportunity against the Islanders. Seguin will look to end his drought on Monday night when Boston plays in Carolina.

Tyler Seguin admitted to being rusty when it comes to playing back in North America after the team's Tuesday night scrimmage despite feeling fine in terms of his fitness.
"I felt great in the scrimmage, but thought I played garbage," said Seguin. "I just felt like I was always cheating because of the ice size. I felt like I was always too far ahead of the play. Over [in Switzerland], I still had time to get [the puck] and go. I know it's an adjustment and it looks like it's almost cheating, but I know that I need to go back a bit lower and get more ice. It's just about making the adjustments. I knew it in my head, but I didn't know it was going to creep up like that in a game." The Bruins will host the Rangers on Saturday night, so hopefully Seguin has worked out the kinks. He's expected to be a key offensive figure for Boston this season, especially since he led the team in scoring last year.

Tyler Seguin is slated to quarterback Boston's first-line power play to open the season, according to coach Claude Julien.
He will join Nathan Horton, Milan Lucic, David Krejci and Zdeno Chara on the team's number one unit. "You've got two big bodies and one that's a great shooter in the slot in Horton," said Julien. "The other good is a good big body in [Lucic]. As you know the quarterback there is probably [Seguin], he's got the skill and the one-timer. We thought that five-man unit would be give us a pretty decent power play. We think we've got some personnel in some places this year that we think will give us more." The Bruins were ranked 15th with the man advantage last season, but adding Seguin to the top unit could develop more scoring chances.

Tyler Seguin says a Swiss newspaper report that said he left his apartment a mess is "untrue."
The Bruins forward played in Switzerland during the lockout, and the publication said he left coins, garbage, dirty clothes and rotten bananas all over the place. "I was blown away with everything," said Seguin about when he first heard about the story. "I thought it was very unprofessional, but I don't want to talk about it too much. Everything was obviously untrue. I don't know if it's because I was one of the guys on the team to ask for a cleaning service. It's something I've always had and I didn't see the big deal in it from traveling and such, but I'm very disappointed in that and it was very unprofessional."

Boston teammate Andrew Ference is looking at Tyler Seguin to take another big step forward this season.
Ference saw video of a dominant player when he witnessed Seguin's remarkable play in Switzerland with Biel of the National League A, where he netted 25 goals and finished with 40 points in 29 games. "Make no doubt about it, it's a different league over there," Ference said. "But if you see the kind of goals he was scoring and the way he was scoring them - he was setting himself up in good position - he was dynamic. He wasn't scoring goals because of weaker competition. He was sniping. Mentally, and as a person going over to Europe being away from any safety nets, being completely out of your comfort zone, especially for a young guy like him, it does a lot. You grow a lot." Seguin will turn just 21-years-old at the end of the month and he has the talent to lead the Bruins in scoring again this year.
