NewsStefan Elliot and Tyson Barrie are in a fight for the eighth and final spot on the blueline.
ImpactMost teams go with 14 forwards and seven defensemen but coach Joe Sacco is leaning towards 13 forwards and eight blueliners, giving Elliot and Barrie a shot at staying with the Avs. Elliot played well at the tail end of his run with the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL and had 13 points in 39 NHL games last season so he could have fantasy value in deep, deep pools if he sticks.
