ImpactThe Ducks acquired Leblanc from Montreal for a conditional fifth round pick, which will be activated if he played in at least 15 games with Anaheim next season. He had 28 points and 63 penalty minutes in 70 AHL contests in 2013-14.

"Throughout his entire stay with our organization Louis showed great professionalism and a constant desire to improve. We thank him for his contribution and wish him success for the continuation of his career." He skated in 50 games with the Canadiens over the past three seasons, where he notched five goals and five assists. Leblanc was the 18th overall pick in the 2008 draft, but he hasn't been able to establish himself as a professional player yet. It's likely that he'll mostly play in the minors with Anaheim as well.

Impact"He knows he has to be better and he knows it's a big summer for him," Bergevin said. "It's going to be up to him. But he's a good young player that we hope one day will play here." Leblanc regressed in 2012-13 while playing in the AHL with 10 goals and eight assists, with a minus-18 rating, in 62 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs.

NewsLouis Leblanc didn't get an invite to Montreal's training camp.
ImpactHe has been slowed by a high-ankle sprain that he sustained in the minors and as a result GM Marc Bergevin said Leblanc is behind where he should be. Leblanc missed about 10 games with the ailment and he has produced just five points in 24 appearances this season with AHL Hamilton.
