|Assets:||Has the prototypical size all NHL scouts look for in a defenseman. Also moved the puck fairly well and limits his mistakes with or without the puck.|
|Flaws:||Doesn't have natural physicality, so he needs to work hard to become a more intimidating figure for the highest level. Also isn't a natural point producer.|
|Career Potential:||Decent defenseman with a little upside.|

Trotman returned to AHL Sunday | 12/30/2013 7:59 AM
NewsThe Bruins assigned Zach Trotman to Providence of the AHL on Sunday.
ImpactHe, along with David Warsofsky, were called up on an emergency basis for Saturday's game against Ottawa due to a number of injuries on the Boston blueline. Trotman did fairly well in his NHL debut. He took three shots on goal and had a neutral plus/minus rating in 16:41 of playing time in the Bruins' 4-3 loss. The 23-year-old Trotman has had some moderate success from an offensive perspective in both the CCHA with Lake Superior State University and with Providence of the AHL. That said, he is not a fantasy asset at this time.

Zach Trotman impresses Julien at camp | 09/16/2013 10:01 AM
NewsZach Trotman has impressed coach Claude Julien during training camp.
Impact"He's a strong kid who's got an unbelievable shot," said Julien, who has paired him with Zdeno Chara for part of camp. "I think he's improved immensely from where he was at the beginning of last year. Those are guys that sometimes are dark horses. Maybe they got overlooked when it came to the draft, but as their game starts coming along ... I think he's been a really good." He suffered three concussions last year in the AHL, from January to May, so it's incredible that he's even on the ice. The Bruins plan to use him in some NHL pre-season matches, but he's probably a long shot to be around by the time the regular season begins.
