ImpactThe World Championships will be held in Belarus this year and Leggio will join Tim Thomas of the Dallas Stars and college netminder Connor Hellebuyck as the three American goaltenders. He played this season with the Capitals affiliate in Hershey where he was 23-18-2 with a 2.63 GAA and a .913 save percentage.

I just explained our situation and told him if he chose to be patient there may be something there for him, but right now we were not in position to offer him a contract." He posted a 38-24-1 record with a .924 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average in AHL Rochester last season.

ImpactHe was Rochester's MVP after earning a 38-24-1 record with a 2.56 GAA and a .924 save percentage in the AHL with Buffalo's minor-league affiliate. However, he may not be back with the Sabres' organization next year. "David is obviously a very good goaltender," Buffalo GM Darcy Regier said. "He's going to be unrestricted. He is going to have some freedom, some rights, and we're going to sit down and talk about the goaltending situation because with the addition of Matt Hackett and even Connor Knapp and Nathan Lieuwen, we've got some decisions to make." If he's brought back and Ryan Miller gets traded then he could find himself in a battle for a backup role on the big club, but there are several factors that would have to fall into place for that scenario to happen.
