ImpactThe 23 year-old blueliner filled in for Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, who left the team early to carry Slovakia's flag at the Olympic ceremonies. Warsofsky went -2 in his first game, but had an assist and was a +3 in Saturday's win over Ottawa.

ImpactHe was called up on an emergency basis due to Zdeno Chara's unavailability Saturday. Warsofsky seems to have a bright future and he will likely be back in Boston should the Bruins suffer another injury on their blueline.

ImpactHe was recalled on an emergency basis from Providence earlier in the day to take the roster spot of the injured Dennis Seidenberg and because Zdeno Chara was not able to suit up against the Sens. Warsofsky scored a beautiful goal, took two shots, was minus one and blocked three shots in 18:23 of playing time. It will be interesting to see if the Bruins send him back to the minors after Zdeno Chara returns to health.

NewsBoston defenseman David Warsofsky played 12:29 Thursday in his first NHL game in Buffalo and earned a positive review from his coach, Claude Julien.
Impact"I thought as the game went on he got more comfortable," the coach said. "He did a good job. He skated the puck up the ice with confidence. I didn't mind his game at all. I thought for his first game he handled himself very well." Warsofsky is an offensive-minded defenseman.

NewsDavid Warsofsky is hoping to get himself involved in the conversation to play on Boston's back end this season.
ImpactHe plays a similar game to Torey Krug and is looking to earn his way onto the roster at training camp. "(Krug) and I are kind of battling for the same position," said Warsofsky. "But at the same time, we played together all last year (for Providence of the AHL) so it was good to see him go up and be successful. But it is a competition. That's why I'm trying to prove myself. On any team, in any organization, there's always people who want to take the next step and take away somebody's job." It's likely that Warsofsky remains in the minors this season.
