ImpactStaal will not join his brothers Eric and Jordan on the Hurricanes, at least to start the season. He had four goals and seven points in 53 AHL games and was held off the scoresheet in two NHL games. Expect him to stay in the minors this season as he is on a two-way contract.

NewsJared Staal has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.
ImpactStaal had four goals and seven points in 53 AHL games last season. He also got his first taste of NHL action and was scoreless in two contests. He can earn $550,000 annually at the NHL level or $60,000 in the minors.

ImpactHe is the younger brother of Hurricanes centers Eric and Jordan Staal. Jared has four goals, three assists and 25 penalty minutes in 52 games with AHL Charlotte this season. He was originally drafted in the second round by Phoenix in 2008 and was acquired by Carolina in 2010.
