NewsZach Smith has been extremely effective in the faceoff dot over the Senators' last three games.
ImpactHe has won 42 of 59 draws for 71 percent success rate and pushed his season total success rate to 53.3 percent. If you pool tracks faceoffs, Smith is a pretty valuable guy to have.

ImpactSmith is a nice combination of some points and penalty minutes as he has 10 points and has 53 minutes in penalties. It's a surprisingly good season for the 25-year-old as he also has three game winning goals. If you need minutes, Smith could be your guy.

ImpactSmith was assessed a two-minute penalty for an illegal check to the head Monday night. Steen exited for the dressing room after the collision, but he did return. Smith finished the game with four penalty minutes and two shots.

ImpactSmith is more of an agitative type with limited offensive capabilities. The 24-year-old's goal was just his first in 24 games this season. Colin Greening, Daniel Alfredsson and Mika Zibanejad were the others to find the back of the net. Erik Condra had two assists.

NewsZack Smith didn't participate in Monday's practice for "maintenance," according to the Senators.
ImpactCoach Paul MacLean said Smith was dealing with a "lower body" problem, which was caused by a blocked a shot against Pittsburgh on Sunday. Smith has one assist, 11 shots and seven penalty minutes in five games this season. We'll list him as active for now.
