NewsWith Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk sidelined, Gustav Nyquist saw a big boost in responsibility on Friday night.
ImpactNyquist garnered 5:20 on the man advantage on Friday night which is well above the 3:01 that he has averaged during the season. With Zetterberg and Datsyuk expected to be out of the lineup for at least a couple more weeks, Nyquist should see a slight boost in responsibility for the next little while. If you're looking for a cheap option, Nyquist is definitely your man.

It is believed that she, along with some other former employees of Evergreen Storage, swiped valuables from several storage units in the facility last year, including Nyquist's puck. The puck is back in his possession now and he is armed with a new two-year contract, so all things considered it's been a good week for the Red Wings forward.

ImpactThe two sides finalized the deal Tuesday morning and it gives the Wings 25 players under contract, including 16 forwards. The Wings plan to have 14 forwards when the season begins, so there will be competition for spots at training camp and GM Ken Holland will be looking to give his team some wiggle room, especially since they are currently over the salary cap. Nyquist should have a spot on the club this year though after posting six points in 22 games last season, in addition to five points in 14 playoff outings. He will probably line up somewhere in Detroit's top-nine group.
